The Grahamstown SPCA serves the community of Grahamstown/Makhanda and surrounds by responding to cruelty complaints and reports of injured animals, doing routine inspections of facilities, and adopting out stray/unwanted animals. SPCA Grahamstown is the 4th time proud recipient of a grant from Animal-Kind International
The grant for "Project Amadoda" is part of Animal-Kind International's Africa

It's not often that we have triple adoptions but Bella Babes was being considered when the two pups were selected. And then the adopter said he would be back for Bella once she had recovered fully from her steri and the pups had settled a bit. On Saturday, Bella Babes went home!

URGENT APPEAL FOR WET FOOD
Wet food serves many purposes at our kennels - disguising medication 💊, making dry food taste a bit nicer🍽️ and helping animals that are skinny to start putting on some weight. Needless to say, mealtimes come with BIG expectations .... and the cupboard is bare😳!
If anyone is able to donate tinned or sachet food for our dogs and cats - Checkers Sixty 60 is a good option😊 or it can be dropped off at our Charity Shop at 31 High Street.

Zoe is well on the road to recovery! She was treated by Inspector Dingana early in July for severe mange and poor body condition. itters of pups. The other two dogs on the property were in good condition and were sterilized by the SPCA. Inspector Dingana checked up on Zoe on Monday. She will get another Nexgard treatment and her body condition still needs to improve further before she can be spayed.

Last night Inspector Dingana was called out to an emergency situation. A bone had become lodged in the dog's mouth and the owners couldn't get it out. Fortunately Inspector Dingana was able to carefully remove the bone and doggy was fine.
Please be careful of what you allow your dogs to eat.
