We’ll do the running… will you help make every kilometre count? 🏃🐾

Twenty-six runners from the Cottage Vet team and community are taking on the Winelands Marathon’s 10 km and 21 km events. Together, we’ll cover 414 kilometres to raise funds for a community spay day for pets whose owners cannot afford sterilisation.

Our K’s for Spays goal? Sponsor every kilometre and raise R41,400!

🐾 Half a K = R50
🐾 One K = R100
🐾 Feeling generous? Sponsor several K’s or a runner’s full distance!
For every 0.5km you sponsor, you will get one entry into the LUCKY DRAW for some FANTASTIC PRIZES.

Your contribution will help cover the supplies, medication and other costs needed to sterilise animals in need—preventing unwanted litters and supporting healthier pets in our community.

No running shoes required. Just a little kindness. 💙

Sponsor your K’s here: https://www.quicket.co.za/events/395583-ks-for-spays/ #/

🐾 A few weeks ago, we shared Dr. Obey’s story and asked our community to help this determined young veterinarian take the next step towards practising independently in South Africa.

Thanks to the incredible generosity of everyone who has donated and shared his story, we’ve now raised more than 50% of the funds needed for Dr. Obey’s SAVC registration examinations.

To every person who has contributed so far, thank you! Every donation, every share and every word of encouragement is helping bring Dr. Obey closer to his goal.

If you would still like to contribute, or simply share his story with someone who may be able to help, the BackaBuddy campaign remains open 👉 https://www.backabuddy.co.za/campaign/help-dr-obey

Halfway there. Let’s get Dr. Obey across the finish line. ❤️

🏡🐾 Every Pet Has Their Spot…

The sunny patch by the window.

The couch they definitely weren't invited onto.

Your bed... despite owning three perfectly good pet beds. 😄

Or your lap... because apparently that's the best seat in the house. 💚

Every pet seems to have one favourite place where they feel happiest and most at home.

👉 We'd love to know... where's your pet's favourite spot?

If your dog's ear infections keep coming back, there's usually a reason.

Recurring ear infections are often linked to underlying issues such as allergies, excess moisture, ear mites, foreign material or even the shape of your dog's ears. Simply treating the infection may not be enough if the root cause isn't identified.

Dr Ingrid explains why ear infections recur, how we investigate the underlying cause, and the best treatment options in her latest blog ➡️ https://www.cottagevet.co.za/ear-infection/

Cats are experts at hiding pain and illness. By the time they show obvious signs, they've often been unwell for longer than we realise.

Today is “Take Your Cat to the Vet Day” and make their wellbeing a priority. A routine visit today could help prevent a much bigger problem tomorrow.

Dr Ingrid shares why regular check-ups are so important for cats, and what to expect during a visit, in her latest blog ➡️ https://www.cottagevet.co.za/cat-annual-check/
