The Thoroughbred Breeders Association Of South Africa The Thoroughbred Breeders’ Association of South Africa is an Animal Breeders Society registered in terms of the Animal Improvement Act of 1998.

The TBA has been in existence since 1920. Virtually every breeder of Thoroughbred horses in S.A. is a member of the TBA. The TBA is governed by a Council of minimum five Council members proposed and elected from and by its membership. To be a member of the TBA, a person must have at least one broodmare registered with the National Horseracing Authority of S.A. In terms of its Constitution, the mai

n objectives of the TBA are:
To safeguard and advance the common interests of Thoroughbred breeders;
To promote and encourage the breeding and genetic improvement of Thoroughbred horses;
To promote sales of Thoroughbred horses for the benefit of its members. The TBA’s head office and sales complex is situated in Gosforth Park, Germiston, Gauteng Province.

Alladin's Lamp by Master Of My Fate gives Varsfontein another feature win over the weekend, the 5yo gelding owned by Jason Murugasa and trained by Mathew and Mike de K**k. Out of Little Genie by Judpot, the Callan Murray-ridden bay won the TAB JUBILEE STAKES (Grade 3) over 1800m at Turffontein. This is the family of Ollivander and Trickster.

Maine Chance Stud-bred Zeitz, gave Vercingetorix another feature winner on the evening, winning under Serino Moodley for Plattner Racing in the BETGAMES CUP TRIAL (Grade 3). Sharing an immediate family with European Champion filly Zarkava, he is out of a Redoute's Choice mare. This is the second Gr3 win for the grey trained by Andre Nel.

Tienie Prinsloo-trained Quickstepgal, a beautifully-bred daughter of Vercingetorix out of Jet Master mare Victoriana, won a hard fought race to secure another Graded Stakes win for her smashing record, the HKJC WORLD POOL TIBOUCHINA STAKES (Grade 2). A double for Laurence Wernars who owns the filly in partnership with Harry Willson, the filly is bred by Marsh Shirtliff's Greenacres Trust. It is the fourth Stakes victory and sixth career win for the bay filly ridden by Keagan De Melo.
This is the family of Hammie's Ho**er and Gem King.

Questioning, raised at Varsfontein Stud for breeder Mr AN Foster, notched up a well deserved Gr1 victory, digging deep on the line to win under Richard Fourie in the Gr1 Hollywoodbets Gold Challenge and giving part owner Mr Mukund Gujadhur his first Gr1 winner, racing in partnership with Greg and Gina Bortz and Wernars Family.
Trained by Vaughan Marshall, Questioning is a Querari half-brother to Labyrinth and Senso Unico, out of Captain Al mare Wheredowego. Querari is enjoying a stellar season.

The bold and flying What A Winter mare bred by Hemel 'n Aarde Stud, Hollywood Racing's Asiye Phambili collected her second Graded Stakes win in a row and her first deserved Gr1 win, for her winning connections and a trainer that is no stranger to training Gr1 winning fillies, Duncan Howells. Providing Hollywood Racing with yet another Gr1 winner by What A Winter and the first of their season as well as completing a feature double on the day for the Drakenstein sire, the big sprinting mare was ably steered to victory by an emotional Sean Veale.

Bred by Oldlands Stud, the handsome son of Vercingetorix Merit Rated 123, gave the Sanne family of Oldlands Stud their 10th winner in the month of May and their second feature winner in a month! It is the 8th career win for this handsome gelding.

The c**t remains unbeaten from two starts, after winning on debut by 10 lengths, he adds the Gr1 Gold Medallion to his race record.
