IT'S OUR BIRTHDAY!! 🥳😆🎊🎉

Pulse Veterinary Clinic turns 8 years old today 🤩

Dwelling on the 8 years that have gone by in a flash, it's difficult to comprehend how much a team of 4 individuals has accomplished along the way (with the help of some very special family and friends and clients who have become like friends and family).

Thank you to all of our loyal clientele and supporters ✨️ We wouldn't be here without you all.

🎂Our birthday wish:🎂
We pride ourselves on serving our community and to be able to continue doing that for many years to come, we'd LOVE Love love to clear our Welfare arrears list.

A huge thank you to everyone who took advantage of our free Rabies Vaccination day on Saturday.

We administered around 170 Rabies injections on the day.

We are very pleased to see that most of our community's animals are regularly vaccinated, with a handful requiring boosters in a month's time.

Remember if more than 3 years have lapsed or if your pet has not had 2 initial vaccinations within a year, they need to be treated as though they have zero immunity.

Our sincerest gratitude goes out to Cynthia and Peggy - your assistance was invaluable - we appreciate you offering up your time on a weekend.

This year’s World Rabies Day theme, “Stronger Together,” highlights a simple truth: Rabies
elimination is only possible when we work together.

We will be open on Saturday 03 October 2026 from 08h30-13h00 offering FREE Rabies Vaccinations in the Assagay Oasis - Health & Wellness parking lot.

Other core vaccinations will be available to administer at discounted rates.

Please keep all dogs on leads and all cats in secure carriers.

If you happen to arrive at a particularly busy time or if you have unsocialised dogs, rather than offload them, kindly wait in your vehicle and we will come to you, to avoid unnecessary chaos.

We look forward to seeing you there.

Only by working as a global community will we be able to eliminate Rabies for everyone.

It's Rabies Awareness Month, with 28 September being World Rabies Day.

We will be having our annual free Rabies vaccination day on Saturday 03 October 2026 from 08h30-13h00.

In the meantime, here is what you need to know about Rabies Vaccination:

⁉️Do my pets have to be vaccinated against rabies?⁉️

Yes❗️️It is vital to protect your pet and your family & community, as rabies occurs throughout South Africa.
Several rabies vaccines are registered in South Africa and are safe to use in your dogs and cats.

💉The first rabies vaccine is given at 12 weeks (three months) of age (it may be given at an earlier age in high risk situations, but must be repeated officially at 12 weeks), followed by a booster vaccination one month later.
Thereafter, a booster is required every three years.
In high-risk areas, such as KwaZulu Natal, annual vaccination is strongly advised!💉

Check your pets' vaccination records to ensure that they are up to date.

The cutest way to end a challenging week - a box of 5 x 5 week old Jack Russell Terrier puppies 🥹

EDIT:
We have had an overwhelming response to this post - please note that these puppies had come in to us for their first set of vaccinations and have all been booked for homes via their owner.

What a rewarding, fun day 🤩

We spent a few hours today helping out Wendy Smith and her wonderful team from Cliffie's Crew - Cliffdale Animal welfare at a Rabies drive and primary animal healthcare clinic held in Cliffdale.
As always, super well done to Wendy for organising and ensuring we were all well fed, hydrated and amped for making a difference. 💪🏽

Certainly chose the hottest day in KZN Winter - at a whopping max of 34°C - to spend time under the sun with the animals.🥵
We were in awe of all the owners who walked their dogs and cats to us...

Together, the team vaccinated 220 dogs and cats against Rabies.💉
All the puppies were treated to a 5in1 vaccination.
Most animals also received deworming and antiparasitics (when they allowed a hand inside their mouths 😅).

Thank you to Heather Partner MAD - Making A Difference and friends from Kloof Country Club and Assagay Feeds for backing this wonderful initiative! 💸

Sorry that our handler, Keke, took a bite to his arm - he handles the most aggressive of dogs with such expertise and rarely comes off second - off for a tetanus jab, antibiotics, pain meds and Rabies booster for the human too!⚕️

Thank you to everyone who gave up their time, got stuck in and helped - Jessica Taylor, Melissa Mack, Derrick Biglin from the US of A, Melanie Graham, Allison Myeza and everyone who's name isn't mentioned that contributed.🙏🏼

Beautiful boy, Cooper, stole our hearts today!

A whopping 18kg at only 12 weeks of age, he promises to grow into a beaut of a merle Great Dane.

True to the breed, he was the most gentle pup and posed regally for his photograph to be taken 🐾
