A little story about our girl.

We never planned on keeping a kitten from this litter, but sometimes life has other plans.

Her mum gave birth to five kittens, four beautiful girls and one little boy. Sadly, we lost our precious boy within his first hour, but we were so grateful that our four little girls were thriving, healthy and beautiful.

Two days later, I sat down with my coffee, ready to spend some time with mum and her babies. Within 15 minutes, she began having contractions again. I was completely taken aback! In all my years of breeding, I’d never experienced anything like it. And then, two whole days after her siblings were born, Batari made her entrance into the world.

A beautiful, light silver black tortie girl with the lungs of an opera singer and a chunky little body determined to fight its way straight to the milk bar! 😂

I was mesmerised from the moment I laid eyes on her. There was just something about this girl, and I knew she was meant to stay with us. So, completely unplanned, Batari became part of our family.

Now, as we look towards the next chapter, we’re hoping that over the coming months Batari will become a mum herself. The thought of watching our little girl raise her own babies is incredibly special, and something we’re looking forward to with full hearts. 🥹❤️

A few months ago, we received a message from Rayla’s family. After a great deal of thought and heartbreak, they had come to the difficult decision that rehoming her would be in her best interest.

Yesterday, Rayla arrived with us, and saying goodbye was clearly not easy for her family. Watching them part with a cat they love so deeply was emotional for everyone involved. But sometimes loving an animal means putting their needs before your own feelings, and that is exactly what they did.

After months of searching, we are incredibly happy to share that Rayla has found a wonderful new home. She will be loved, spoiled, cherished, and given everything she deserves. We truly could not have hoped for a better outcome for her.

We are also deeply grateful to Rayla’s family for placing their trust in us. They gave us the opportunity to help one of our graduates, and that trust means the world to us.

As breeders, we often say that we are responsible for our kittens for life. But that responsibility can only be fulfilled when owners feel comfortable reaching out and asking for help when circumstances change. Whether a kitten is 5 months old or 15 years old, we will always do our best to support them and advocate for their wellbeing.

Rayla’s story is a reminder that responsible ownership is not about never facing difficult decisions. Sometimes it is about making them with love, compassion, and your cat’s best interests at heart.

Thank you to Rayla’s family for loving her enough to make that choice, and thank you to her new family for opening your hearts and home to her.

We wish you a lifetime of happiness, sweet girl. 🤍

Meet Rayla, a beautiful 5-year-old black and white female Maine C**n looking for a special new family to call her own. ❤️

Rayla is a loving, affectionate and playful girl who enjoys being part of the family. She would be best suited to an adults-only home (no dogs) and not a multicat household.

Rayla’s family will be immigrating to Australia and, after a great deal of thought and many difficult conversations, it has been decided that remaining in South Africa and finding the right home here is what will be best for her. This has not been an easy decision for anyone involved, but her wellbeing remains the priority.

Rayla will leave with:

✔️ Registered pedigree
✔️ Registration transferred into her new owner’s name

She is a 3-year-old black smoke tortoiseshell, with the most beautiful personality to match. Hayali is incredibly affectionate, outgoing, and very talkative, she thrives on human attention and loves being part of a family.

She would suit most homes, including those with gentle, pet-friendly dogs that are already accustomed to cats and are not overwhelming.

She will go to her new home with:
• Vaccines up to date
• Microchipped
• Sterilised
• Her pedigree and transfer of ownership

We are able to arrange flights within South Africa ✈️

Please note the following requirements:
• She must be strictly raw-fed (no exceptions)
• She is a strictly indoor cat
• Any outdoor access must be fully enclosed (cat-proofed garden or secure catio only)
• She must go to a home with at least one existing cat
• Homes with dogs will only be considered if they are cat-friendly and well-adjusted
