As you can imagine, it's a very stressful time for her mom, Yuvi, so please share a thought for her too.

Every visit reminds us why therapy dogs matter.
Just fifteen minutes of connection can ease anxiety, lift spirits, and help someone feel safe again.

Our Angel Paws Therapy Dogs bring measurable comfort — lowered blood pressure, calmer emotions, brighter moods — but the real impact is felt in the smiles, the softened shoulders, and the quiet moments of relief.

Thank you to our volunteers and our beautiful dogs for carrying this gift into every space.

Did you know? August is Africanis Month.
The Africanis is an intelligent, resilient, athletic and affectionate breed that has lived alongside human settlements throughout Southern Africa for centuries.
Sadly, many Africanis and Africanis-type dogs end up in rescue organisations, where they become just one of hundreds of "brown dogs" waiting for a home.
We're fortunate to have several wonderful brown dogs in our programme—some more Africanis-like than others—and every one of them has proven to be an exceptional therapy dog.
A heartfelt thank you to their owners for looking beyond appearances, recognising their potential, and giving them the opportunity to make such a positive difference in the lives of others.

Therapy dogs don't heal with medicine. They heal with presence. 10 minutes with a therapy dog is all it takes for blood pressure to drop by 5-10% and heart rate to slow down by 3-7%

In that look...the world went quiet. Blue eyes met mine. No words. No rush. Just Sky saying, 'I'm here, I see you."

Amber Valley Care Centre, is a relatively new addition to our regular visit calendar. It's so rewarding to see happy smiles, wherever our dogs go.

Today we brought the excitement of the Durban July, or should we rather say, the 'Benoni' July to our frail care residents - but instead of horses, we raced with pictures of our Angel Paws dogs!

The residents had the best time playing our 'Benoni' July game. There was so much laughter and cheers as well as "my dog is gonna win!" energy.

It's all about bringing joy and connection. This is what comfort from a therapy dog looks like...because joy doesn't have an age limit.

Wow!!! What a very special day we had yesterday, when 7 new dogs were evaluated, and are now taking the next step on their Therapy Dog journey. Welcome to Angel Paws 😇🐾
A huge thank you to our Animal Behaviourist, Heidi Olivier, for her expertise, and Dargle Dale Kennels & Cattery for allowing us to use their premises.
Our team is growing, so we can continue following our dream of

Alfie wears his little work shoes to protect the fragile skin of the people he visits. They also help him stay steady on slippery floors. He’s perfectly comfortable in them — in fact, when the shoes go on, he knows it’s time to work and his whole body lights up.
His shoes have become a sweet talking point for many of the people he visits, and to Alfie’s absolute delight… they often earn him extra cuddles.
