Today marks 7 years of the OG Witzenberg Vets around the sun 🥰 we are grateful to serve this community and their animals. You have become like family to us. Thank you for the privilege to journey with you and your floofkids 🖤

Every year we have the same person, Jean Reed, pop in on our birthday with deeelish cupcakes or some sort of treat/present. She is also the only person who seems to remember it and reminds us 🤣 Jean was also our first customer with her old girl Pumba (our oldest patient then) when we opened back on 3 September 2019. Sadly, Pumba is no longer with us, however both her sisters are going strong. 1)Tasha, who is our oldest patient at 19 years young and 2) Splash, featured here. This incredible lady is the woman behind Jean's Homemade Dog Treats which you may know and love that is for sale at reception.

Cheers to many more years of the entirety of life, awesomeness and lessons our extended family shares with us. We simply adore each and every one of you. We endeavour to always do our very best 😘

Take a moment to familiarise yourself with these common changes we see in your furry loved ones when they’re suffering from chronic pain ‼️

Why? Commemorates this day in 1956 when 20,000 women of all races marched to protest.
The Cause? The-pass laws forcing black South Africans to carry internal passports to control urban movement
The Legacy? The petition delivered and the song, ”Wathint’ Abafazi, Wathint’ Imbokobo.” This means, “You strike a woman, you strike a rock.”

A woman, with a quiet grace represents the resilience and backbone of a community. Like a rock, unbreakable no matter what her challenges. We see you.

Thank you to Layla Scott and Lisa Louw for consistently being women I deeply respect, love and rockstars at Witzenberg Vets. It was never intentional to have an all-women team, but I am so grateful for it 🙏

Remember, “Alone we can do so little. Together we can do so much.” Helen Keller. You are powerful, you are unbreakable, you are enough and just what it needed for a time as this 💜

🦄 The photo below is of Poplin, a pony rescued by and adopted from Cart Horse Protection Association. Another powerhouse organisation led by some incredible women. With numerous injuries sustained, Poplin lost her eye through her ordeal before being rescued but her quiet strength and unshakeable love embodies the rock that was struck and cannot be broken 🔥
