Meet Rue and Hunter, the two horses I’ve been quietly pouring everything into.

Rue’s 7, a thoroughbred mare schooling medium dressage. She’s sharp, and she teaches the harder stuff bringing a horse into a frame, real suppleness, collection, accuracy in the details.

Hunter’s 18, a thoroughbred gelding, about as chilled as they come. He teaches the foundation. The basic cues, learning to actually stretch through your body instead of bracing against it.

Both of them have been through Core Conditioning for Horses training and rider biomechanics work, which means they don’t just carry you around they show you what correct actually feels like.

I’ve kept that mostly for myself until now. That’s starting to change.

Rider biomechanics on Joker the horse simulator, broken down minute by minute. This is exactly what your first Joker Lesson looks like: proprioception work on the mat, seat analysis on the simulator, then walk and trot mechanics with real-time postural correction.

First session R325. Based in Mnandi, Centurion — or I’ll travel for clinics.

Meet Gertrude, every bone here is one you’re riding with too, whether you’re paying attention to it or not. Rider biomechanics starts with understanding what your skeleton and bones are actually doing in the saddle.

If your horse won’t move forward, your hips are locked up, your feet won’t stay in the stirrup, or your reins always end up long when they feel short in your hands… that’s not your horse’s problem. That’s posture and seat correction.

This isn’t for quick fixes. It’s for the rider ready to actually feel what’s going on in there.

It’s this weekend 🐴

The Kids Biomechanics Clinic kicks off tomorrow at Eaton Farm — two days, four lessons, and a Ride-and-Go in front of a graded dressage judge.

If your young rider keeps hearing the same feedback and it’s just not sticking — this is the weekend that changes that. We start with the rider’s body, then the horse’s body, then put both together in a real test setting with a graded judge giving direct feedback.

📍 Eaton Farm | 📅 15–16 August | 🕘 9am–3pm
🎂 Ages 12–14 | 💰 R2000 (R1780 SANESA Kids)

Save the date — 17 August.

Megan Shea, Grand Prix dressage rider and Canadian team representative, joins us live on Zoom to talk about how she uses Core Conditioning for Horses techniques to warm up her horses and what that actually looks like at the highest level of the sport.

Megan has developed horses from the ground up to Grand Prix level, competed at the Wellington CDIOU25 Nation’s Cup on Team Canada, and is based year-round at Bell Tower Farm in Wellington, Florida. She’s the real deal and she’s bringing the practical, behind-the-scenes detail of what her warm-up actually looks like and why.

Save the date, 5 August.

Alejandra González, international biomechanics specialist and 4-Star Embodied Rider Biomechanics Coach, joins us live on Zoom to go deep on spinal pathologies: what’s actually happening in your spine, how it influences your movement as a rider, and what you can do about it in the saddle.

This isn’t about having a “bad back.” It’s about understanding your own structure so you can work with it instead of around it.

There’s a specific feeling when a horse is truly strong enough for the work you’re asking. Carrying you feels effortless, not effortful, and every stride tells you it’s built correctly rather than compensating.

That’s what these lessons are built on. Horses conditioned for the actual workload, so what you feel in the saddle is subtlety, not struggle. As your awareness of your own biomechanics grows, you’re not just improving a movement, you’re building a genuinely positive, correct pattern into how your horse learns to carry you.

Limited spots.
R650 per lesson, packages available.

Stop trying to sit still, or stabilise with your core, or do dismounted exercises that restrict your movement!

Understanding biomechanics has taught me your body is moving, all the time, so let it! Understand how your body moves, apply it to your yoga routine, your workout routine and your riding and it will benefit you way more that holding your core tight for a whole hour or doing internal and external hip rotation.
