We have a free roam play area for the hooligans and a quieter play area for the shy (or smaller) birds.

My advice:

If you are ADAMANT about getting a bird, volunteer at a rescue/sanctuary or foster the species you are interested in, first.

It will be an honest insight into what you are signing up for, as well as the potential issues/challenges that you could be facing.

It will also connect you with people that can educate and support you - having a knowledgeable, like minded network is VERY important!!

Be smart about it.
Be real with yourself.
