Unfortunately, the dog does not have a microchip, so we are trying our best to locate the owner.

KIDNEY DISEASE IN CATS — KNOW THE SIGNS!

Kidney disease is unfortunately common in cats, particularly as they get older. The tricky part? Cats are experts at hiding when something is wrong.

That’s why knowing the subtle warning signs — and keeping up with regular veterinary check-ups — can make such a difference.
Keep an eye out for:

💧 Drinking more water
🚽 Urinating more frequently
🍽️ Loss of appetite
⚖️ Unexplained weight loss
😴 Sleeping more or unusual lethargy
🤢 Vomiting or nausea
🧶 A dull or poor coat condition
👃 Bad breath, sometimes with an ammonia-like smell

💡 Early detection matters. Chronic kidney disease generally cannot be cured, but with appropriate veterinary care, nutrition and monitoring, progression may be slowed and your cat’s quality of life supported.

🐾 Senior cats deserve extra attention. Regular blood and urine testing can help detect changes before your cat becomes visibly unwell.

If you’ve noticed changes in your cat’s drinking, eating, weight, litter-box habits or behaviour, don’t ignore them.

UTI IN CATS: KNOW THE WARNING SIGNS!

Your cat can’t tell you, “Mom, something hurts when I pee…” — so it’s up to us to notice the little changes.

Urinary problems can be painful and uncomfortable, and some urinary conditions can become serious very quickly.

That’s why early detection matters!

Keep an eye out for signs such as:

🐾 Frequent attempts to urinate
🐾 Straining or discomfort when urinating
🐾 Blood or dark-coloured urine
🐾 Pain around the lower abdomen
🐾 Tiredness or unusual behaviour
🐾 Suddenly avoiding the litter box

💧 Prevention matters too! Encourage your cat to drink plenty of water, keep their litter box clean and watch for changes in their normal habits.

⚠️ Important: If your cat is repeatedly trying to urinate but producing little or no urine, don’t wait — seek veterinary care urgently. A urinary blockage can be life-threatening, particularly in male cats.

From ears pointed forward in curiosity to ears flattened back in fear or irritation, your cat’s ears can give you valuable clues about how they’re feeling.

👂 Forward: Interested & curious
👂 Slightly turned out: Relaxed & calm
👂 Straight up: Alert & curious
👂 Turned back: Annoyed or irritated
👂 Flat to the sides: Fearful or nervous
👂 One forward, one back: Unsure or thinking
👂 Twitching: Focused or tracking a sound
👂 Back but not flat: Cautious or concerned
👂 Down & out: Angry, defensive or ready to protect themselves

💡 Remember: Your cat’s ears are only one part of their body language. Always look at their eyes, tail, posture and overall behaviour too.

And if you notice persistent ear changes, scratching, head shaking, discharge, redness or signs of pain, it’s time to let a vet take a look.
