Tiny Diamond came to us struggling with heart failure symptoms — coughing, tiring easily and breathing much faster than normal. After starting treatment, his owner carefully monitored his resting breathing rate at home each day while he slept.

Within just one week, his numbers steadily improved from 28 breaths per minute down to 20, showing a wonderful response to medication and dedicated home care. Monitoring resting respiratory rate is a simple but powerful way to help detect changes in pets with heart disease early. We’re so proud of Diamond and grateful to his owner for being such an attentive part of his journey. 💙🐾

🐾 𝗠𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗿’𝘀 𝗦𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗱 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲

When Regan spotted a tabby cat lying in the road, he thought the worst. But then the cat 𝗹𝗶𝗳𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗵𝗲𝗮𝗱. Without hesitation, Regan rushed him to the vet, where our team immediately jumped into action.

The cat’s breathing was very shallow, and an X-ray confirmed a 𝙥𝙣𝙚𝙪𝙢𝙤𝙩𝙝𝙤𝙧𝙖𝙭 — a condition where 𝘢𝘪𝘳 𝘭𝘦𝘢𝘬𝘴 𝘪𝘯𝘵𝘰 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘴𝘱𝘢𝘤𝘦 𝘣𝘦𝘵𝘸𝘦𝘦𝘯 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘭𝘶𝘯𝘨𝘴 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘤𝘩𝘦𝘴𝘵 𝘸𝘢𝘭𝘭, preventing the lungs from expanding properly. This makes it very difficult for the patient to breathe.

After draining the air from Mister’s chest, our vets started looking for other injuries… and there were quite a few. Poor kitty had a 𝗱𝗶𝘀𝗹𝗼𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗵𝗶𝗽 and a 𝗱𝗶𝘀𝗿𝘂𝗽𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗸𝗻𝗲𝗲, meaning most of the ligaments supporting the knee joint had ruptured.

While we waited for his chest to heal and stabilise, we managed to track down his owner and learned that his name is 𝙈𝙞𝙨𝙩𝙚𝙧. 💙

A couple of weeks later, Mister underwent a 𝘀𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗱 𝗺𝗮𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗵𝗼𝗻 𝘀𝘂𝗿𝗴𝗲𝗿𝘆 to repair both his hip and his knee. The toughest part came afterwards — 𝙨𝙞𝙭 𝙬𝙚𝙚𝙠𝙨 𝙤𝙛 𝙧𝙚𝙘𝙤𝙫𝙚𝙧𝙮 with his leg bandaged completely stiff.

Looking back now, it was all worth it…
