We’re always very careful about posting unnecessarily because life’s too short to spend it on your phone!
But this is an issue very close to our hearts.
The City of Cape Town and it’s partners have come up with a plan to capture the Seaforth family troop of baboons (who mostly forage along that heavenly piece of coastline and mountain), euthanase some, vasectomise others and relocate the rest to an alien-infested enclosure on a small property in Cape Point right next door to us.
The plan was announced without any consultation with us as one of the abutting neighbours and no EIA having been done.
The baboons will spend the rest of their lives in an enclosure that is a tiny fraction of their current range, with no chance of release.
Or they will be euthanised.
Join us in our objection!
Like and follow Cape Point Baboon Trust which was formed in response to this plan.
Surely we can do better than this for our wildlife!
