We received a call on Tuesday, at 19h21 that Bella had been in a motor vehicle accident. Bella was found at the scene with injuries to her chest.

Dr Lauren, from Cape Vet Equine Practice, came through and took care of her wounds and Bella was trucked to our Recovery and Rehabilitation Centre where she will receive all the care she needs.

Bella's recovery is going to require ongoing veterinary treatment, proper nutrition, medication, rehabilitation and round the clock care. These costs will continue to mount in the weeks and months ahead.

The circumstances surrounding the accident are still under investigation, so we are unable to share more at this stage.

But what we can do is make sure Bella gets every chance to heal.

You Can Not Judge a Book by Its Cover!

Toodles and his horse, King Mick work together, earning a living and getting by.

While out working recently, Toodles came across a frightened dog that was clearly lost. The dog almost got knocked over, so Toodles stopped, rescued the dog and took him home to keep him safe.

He then contacted CHPA and brought the dog to us.

Thanks to Toodles, we were able to reunite the very worried owner with their beloved dog, who had escaped from their yard.

THERE IS A BIGGER LESSON HERE FOLKS!

You cannot judge a person by where they live, what they do, or how they earn a living.

Kindness does Not have an address, and doing the right thing does Not depend on how much money you have.

Toodles saw an animal in need, stopped to help, when no-one else did, and that is what matters!

Folks, remember Piccadilly, who was confiscated by CHPA?

Although Piccadilly has sadly crossed the Rainbow Bridge, HE GOT HIS DAY IN COURT. 🐴

His owner PLEADED GUILTY to the charges brought under the Animal Protection Act.

We are now waiting for a date for sentencing. ⚖️

Piccadilly may no longer be with us, but his story continues to matter. 🐴

🏃‍♂️🏃‍♂️🌟🌟A NEW CHAPTER FOR SIYA 🌟🌟🏃‍♂️🏃‍♂️

After an incredible journey that began in 2024, Siya has decided to hang up his CHPA running shoes and take the next step as an independent runner.

When Siya started running, he was a novice with a dream. What followed has been nothing short of extraordinary. From his very first races to tackling marathons and the Comrades Marathon, twice, Siya trained hard, pushed his limits and grew into an accomplished runner.

Since 2024, Siya has raised R200,000 for CHPA, using his passion for running to make a real difference to the lives of the horses we care for.

Behind every kilometer was a group of incredible supporters. We are deeply grateful to the sponsors who believed in Siya and supported his journey, contributing more than R56,000 since 2024 to help make it possible.
