As temperatures rise, our furry family members depend on us more than ever. A few simple precautions can make all the difference

🌳 SHADE: Outdoor pets need shade ALL day. Remember, the sun moves!

💧 WATER: Fresh, cool water at all times. Check and refill regularly

🏠 SHELTER: A cool, well-ventilated space to escape the heat

🐾 WALKS: Avoid the hottest parts of the day and check pavements before walking

🚗 NEVER leave pets in parked cars

🚨 HEATSTROKE? ACT FAST!
1️⃣ Move your pet to a cool, shaded area
2️⃣ Pour cool tap water over their body and use a fan if available. Never use ice or ice-cold water
3️⃣ Contact your vet and seek emergency care immediately. Don't delay treatment
4️⃣ Offer small sips of water only if they're alert and can swallow safely

❤️ Our pets rely on us for food, water, shelter, protection and love. Let's keep them safe and check on our neighbours' animals, too

🐾 A WEEK WITH THE PACK + CAT 🐾

Monday to Sunday, I had the pleasure of spending the week with five wonderful dogs and one very distinguished 19-year-old cat 😹❤️

Meet the gang:

🐶 Rory – our handsome gentleman.
🐶 Sky – sweet, slightly strange, and very selective about her people. I'm incredibly grateful she chose me because she absolutely stole my heart 🥹
🐶 Lexi – a little shy and nervous, so she received some extra TLC and reassurance.
🐶 Maya – a happy bundle of cuddles with a permanently wagging tail. I don't think she could hurt a fly!
🐶 Daisy – the tiny princess of the house. A little sausage dog/Doberman-looking mystery mix who definitely runs the place 😂
🐱 Cat – 19 years young and quite possibly the oldest cat I've ever personally met. Naturally, Cat received VIP treatment (cat is camera shy - sorry) 👑

Because these pups aren't the type to go wandering off the property, I got creative with enrichment instead.

🧊 Doggy ice treats made with droewors, cat pellets and wet food kept everyone entertained for nearly an hour on one particularly warm afternoon!

🧺 Everyone also got freshly washed, fluffy blankets for the ultimate comfort.

It was a little different not being able to take them for walks, but I really enjoyed finding other ways to keep everyone stimulated, comfortable, relaxed and happy.

And thankfully, everyone behaved themselves! 😂

All in all, it's been a really lovely stay, and I hope I've introduced a few new little ways to keep this wonderful bunch entertained.

I'll definitely be looking forward to hanging out with the whole gang, Cat included, again. 🐾❤️

A lovely little overnight stay close to home with two absolute sweethearts, Harry & Bini 🐾💚

I really enjoyed my night with these two handsome boys. Being local meant no long travels, just a peaceful evening, plenty of cuddles, happy pups, and a lovely restful stay. 🏡🐶

Another lovely stint with Lila & Woody 🐾❤️

Walks, garden adventures, sunbeds, snack breaks, belly scratches, plenty of cuddles and, of course, all the little moments in between that make pet sitting so special 🌿🐶
They’ve once again reminded me that a happy pet is a well-loved pet, and I’m very lucky to get to spend time with them 🥰

Three days with Bobo & Zelda 🐾❤️ and what a lovely little adventure it was!

Of course, there were plenty of furry faces to keep me company, but this stay came with a whole supporting cast too! 🐦🦔🌿 There was always something interesting happening around me.

In between the cuddles and care, I got to enjoy a little bird watching, flower identifying, coffee drinking, and even some baboon observing. Basically, a very happy combination of pets, wildlife, nature and caffeine! ☕🌿🦜🐒

Im pretty confident Bobo and Zelda enjoyed having me around just as much as I enjoyed them! 🐕🍗🐶☺️

Thank you for trusting me with your fur babies, your home, and all the wonderful wildlife that comes along with it. It was an absolute pleasure 🐾💚

Three wonderful days, two beautiful little souls, and countless happy memories 🐾☀️
I had the absolute pleasure of spending the last few days with Lila and Woody, and my heart is a little fuller because of them. We filled our days with belly scratches, tasty treats, leisurely walks, naps in the winter sunshine, endless tail wags, and plenty of cuddles.
One of the best parts of pet sitting is getting to know each animal's unique personality and making sure they feel safe, loved, and comfortable while their humans are away.
Lila and Woody, thank you for being such wonderful little companions. I'll miss your happy faces!

🐾 Ridgeback Adventures! 🐾

What a wonderful week it's been spending time with this gorgeous crew! ❤️
We have had the pleasure of caring for three energetic Ridgeback brothers and their beautiful senior lady companion. From zoomies and playtime to cuddles, treats, and plenty of tail wags, these four have certainly kept me smiling all week long.
It's been such a joy getting to know their unique personalities and sharing in all their little daily moments. Here's a small glimpse into some of our adventures together! 🐕🐕🐕🐕

My name is Kyra, and I offer reliable pet sitting and house sitting through Happy Pet Happy Home 🐾🏡

I have my own transport, many years of experience with animals, and share my home with four dogs and two cats, so I truly understand how important it is to leave your pets with someone you can trust.
I’m comfortable caring for dogs, cats, birds, guinea pigs, hamsters and other small animals, and I’m also a plant collector, so your plants will be in good hands too! 🌿
