Attentional all, Urgent Announcement:

It’s Official, Lord Pookie has been born, this marks an official public holiday at Booleys Pet Shop😂, jokes aside.

We started looking into incubators but the costs were just crazy, R500 later an some scrap material and YouTube, we built V1 of the project incubation station.

21 Days later, through waking up with light bulbs blown and not finding incandescent bulbs, switching too old school halogen and turning the egg on every other day or when I actually remembered 😅, Pookie arrived in good health.

This experiment was more then just hatching an egg it was about using what we had and not doing too much. Life was born and Life lessons were learnt.

Day 20 Pekin bantam egg update:
Pipping has started, blackly check is busy absorbing all the left over yolk and veins.

Pookie will be revealed soon.

This is what day 15 looks like, little pookie seems too be doing well. We ran this with a home-made incubator using most of the tools that we had on hand.

Pookie is set too hatch over the weekend, we are now preparing for lockdown mode.

DIY Egg incubator, we built it with the drive too bring down costs of egg incubators, on the 11 August was Was day 1 of our pekin bantam egg, today is 9 days, Stay tuned as we are going too candle the egg by the end of this week.
