Our practice is 10 years old! I can hardly believe it. It started as a shining nugget of an idea. A kernel. A âwhat if this could actually work..?â
We bought an old house, sanded doors, painted skirtings and sunk our savings and some into some pricey equipment, hoping the people and their pets would come. Hoping the community would embrace us.
Iâll never forget that feeling. The waiting. We got all excited when a car pulled up in front of the practice, but it was just Pathcare dropping off blood tubes and submission forms. And then our very first patient came through those shiny, newly varnished doors, and we took him, and treated him exactly how we wanted our animals to be treated and have been doing that ever since.
The doors arenât shiny anymore, and neither are we. We are all a little older, a touch wiser and substantially more crazy. Our clients have become friends, their animals our family. Their tears are our tears, their successes bring us equal joy.
The original team of 4 are still together but with the addition of 6 incredible humans we make up a team that âskriks vir niksâ (Literally). We laugh a lot, we cry too, we kiss our patients, even though itâs not âmedically approvedâ and hug each other when itâs been one of those days. We have each others backs and I can truly say Caledon Vet is a place where every person that walks through those doors does their absolute best.
This place is a dream that has taken hard work and commitment from many people, itâs a second home and I can truly say I go to work every single day with a smile on my face. Itâs not about the company, itâs about the company .
From the bottom of my heart, thank you to everyone who has made our practice what it is today. We are truly grateful.
