The twelve o’clock chime at midnight that brought 2026 to life — a new year, new challenges, new beginnings — yet still with old friends and also new ones joining us. And already, we find ourselves on the 10th day of January 2026.

It was a whirlwind here at the end of 2025, so much so that we didn’t even get the chance to post our Grey Youth year-end function.

This little two-year-old angel child is truly a precious gift from God.
Her story began in sadness, but today only happiness lies ahead — with two wonderful parents and a caring little sister by her side.

Bytjie has been blessed with a rare gift from God: the gentle ability to make friends with animals.
Whether it is a fully grown nyala, a tiny marmoset monkey, an owl, or a bushbaby, she approaches them calmly, speaks softly to them, feeds them, and even holds them with quiet trust.

Here you can see how the marmoset monkeys simply accepted her, eating straight from her hand.
Truly, she is an angel child.

Good morning

This hornbill is so cute and always right at the front. He already knows when the animals are getting fed and flies along from enclosure to enclosure, chatting to me until I put a handful of food on one of the little roofs so that he can eat along with them.

It’s so precious that we have so many species of wild birds here – even the kingfishers.
I just don’t like it when they steal our little fish.

The Please Feed Me Project

The Please Feed Me Project is a loving initiative focused on the care and wellbeing of all adopted animals. We believe that every animal deserves a safe home, enough food, and the proper medical care.

Our project includes:

🐾 Medicine and care: All animals receive the necessary vaccinations, deworming, and medical treatment to keep them healthy and happy.

🍖 Feeding program: We follow a structured feeding plan to ensure each animal gets the right type of food for its age, size, and health needs.

🐎 Hoof care: Animals such as horses and donkeys receive regular hoof maintenance and trimming to prevent discomfort or injury.

🐶 Welcoming new animals: Every new animal that joins us is welcomed with warmth and love. We take time to get to know them, help them feel safe, and support them until they find their forever home.

This project is built on compassion, responsibility, and the desire to give every animal a better life.
