🥣 EVERY PET NEEDS A DISH! 🐾

There’s a funny thing about pet bowls. You can buy the fanciest toys, the comfiest beds and all the treats in the world, but somehow, that humble little bowl is still one of the most important things in the house.

Of course, that doesn’t mean it’ll stay where you put it. 😂

Some get tipped over, some get dragged around, some become swimming pools, and others apparently need to be inspected by a very fussy food critic before anything touches the sides.

And with so many different mouths to feed at home, there’s always a good reason to have the right bowl for the job!

This weekend, we’re giving you 10% OFF ALL FOOD AND WATER BOWLS at Loolilocks Benoni! 🎉

Whether it’s for your dog, cat, bird, bunny, reptile or any of the other little characters in your life, there’s a dish for them here.

Now, if only we could teach them to keep the water inside the bowl and the food inside the dish. Feeding time is one thing… keeping everything where it belongs is apparently a whole different skill! 😂

Somebody asked the small animals what they wanted for the weekend…

The answer was apparently:

Something to chew.
Something to climb.
Something to hide in.
Something to play with.

And, judging by the looks we were getting, preferably all of the above. 😂

So this weekend, we’re making it a little easier to spoil the smaller members of the family.

🐹 Buy any 3 small-animal accessories and get the cheapest one FREE!

Tunnels, toys, hides, bridges, chew toys and all the other little things that keep them busy, entertained and hopefully out of trouble for at least five minutes. 😅

Because if they’re going to rearrange their entire home anyway, they might as well have some nice furniture to work with. 😂

This weekend only at Loolilocks Benoni. 🐰🐹🐭

🦎 “I’m just coming in for some substrate.”

We’ve heard this one before. 😂

You walk in with a very clear plan.

Substrate. That’s it.

You know exactly what you need, you’re going to be in and out, and there’s absolutely no reason to look at anything else.

Then you see the hides.

And suddenly you start thinking that perhaps your snake’s current hide is looking a little boring…

Then there’s that branch.

And that plant would actually look really good in the corner.

And while you’re standing there holding everything, you remember that the old feeding bowl has seen better days.

And just like that, your quick trip for substrate has somehow turned into an enclosure renovation. 😂

So, seeing as we know how these things tend to go, we thought we’d make it a little easier this weekend.

Buy any reptile substrate + 2 or more reptile accessories, and we’ll take 10% off the whole bundle.

Because sometimes the reptile doesn’t need anything new…

…but apparently their house does. 😂🦎

🇿🇦🐠 This Heritage Day, we’re going back to our roots…

Loolilocks as you know it today started with our family in 2006, but our story actually goes back quite a bit further.

Before Loolilocks became the slightly crazy collection of fish, birds, reptiles, bunnies, hamsters, spiders, insects, dogs, cats and everything in between that it is today, there was a much simpler beginning…

Fish. Lots and lots of fish. 😂🐠

The man behind Loolilocks has had pets and the pet trade in his life from a very young age. His own mom owned a pet shop in Vanderbijlpark, so the foundations were already being laid long before Loolilocks came along.

Then, while still young, he went to work on a kibbutz in Israel, where he discovered a passion that would end up shaping the future of the business — koi.

What started as an interest turned into years of learning, travelling between Israel and Japan, and developing a deep knowledge and passion for koi, their keeping and everything that comes with them.

Eventually, in 2006, our family took over Loolilocks and the journey really began.

Over the years, Loolilocks has grown, changed and expanded far beyond those early fish-filled days… but fish and koi have always remained a huge part of our roots. ❤️

So this Heritage Day, we thought we’d celebrate by going back to where it all started.

🐠🇿🇦 BACK TO OUR ROOTS SPECIAL 🇿🇦🐠

BUY 5 OF THE SAME FISH
GET 2 MORE FREE!

Perfect for building up those schools, adding a few more friends to the community or simply because… well… who doesn’t want 7 fish for the price of 5? 😂

And if you’re looking at some of our more expensive fish, or you’re wanting to put together a mixed group, come chat to us — we’ll see what we can do for you. 😉

From our family to yours, thank you for being part of the Loolilocks story.

Happy Heritage Day! 🇿🇦❤️

Here’s to where we came from, where we are today, and all the crazy creatures still to come. 🐠🐾

🐟 Apparently, Fish Are Fussy… 😂

You’d think feeding fish would be pretty simple, right?

You buy fish food.
You feed the fish.
Everyone is happy.

Unfortunately… someone forgot to tell the fish. 😂

One fish wants flakes.
Another turns its nose up at flakes and demands pellets.
The bottom dwellers are sitting there waiting for their wafers to sink.
The shrimp are wondering why nobody has ordered their food yet. 🦐

And then there’s the koi…

Because apparently those guys have their own menu entirely. 😅🐟

So if you’re one of those people who has a whole collection of different fish foods because every resident in the tank has their own culinary preferences, this weekend is for you!

🎉 MIX & MATCH FISH FOOD SPECIAL 🎉

🐠 Buy 2 different fish foods → 10% OFF
🐠 Buy 3 or more different fish foods → 15% OFF

Mix and match your favourites and stock up on the different foods your aquatic gang actually needs.

Tropical fish, bottom dwellers, koi and everything in between — because apparently one food is never enough when you’re running a proper underwater restaurant. 😂

📅 This weekend only at Loolilocks Benoni!

Come stock up, save a little, and keep all those fussy little customers happy. 🐟🐠🦐

Because around here, the fish may not pay the bills…

…but they certainly seem to think they run the place. 😂

🐱 Somewhere in your house, a cat is plotting… 👀

Maybe today’s mission is chasing something across the lounge at 2am.

Maybe it’s stalking an unsuspecting toy from underneath the couch.

Maybe it’s climbing, pouncing, scratching, batting things off shelves… or simply finding a new way to entertain itself. 😂

Whatever the plan may be, a little enrichment can go a long way when you’re a cat with places to be and absolutely no responsibilities. 😌🐾

So this weekend, we’re giving our feline friends a little something extra…

😻 10% OFF CAT TOYS & ENRICHMENT ITEMS! 😻

Come find something to keep your cat busy, curious and entertained.

Because a happy cat is a busy cat…

And a busy cat is hopefully a cat that leaves your curtains alone. 😂

🦜 Uh-oh… someone’s bored! 👀😂

You know that look your bird gives you when they’ve decided there’s absolutely NOTHING interesting to do?

The cage has been investigated.
The food has been inspected.
The same old toy has officially lost its entertainment value. 😅

Well, we might have a solution… 👀🐦

It’s time for a NEW TOY! 🎉
