Ultrasound, endoscopy, ECG, chemotherapy and dental work are but a few of our areas of interest; including soft tissue and orthopaedic surgery in our in-house theatre. We have an x-ray unit, an in-house laboratory and a dispen

Our Veterinary Nurse, Sr. Zoe, provides Puppy Socializing classes for your new pup; as well as running a Weight-Loss programme for those canine or feline tubby’s who need to shed a few extra kilos. Should you require advice on any products, food or other animal related queries, our Dr’s, Nurse and front-office Health Care Team will be happy to assist. Should your pet be staying with us overnight, or even just for a few hours, rest assured, they will be in the good hands of our Kennel Care Team.

🐾 Workers’ Day | 1 May 🐾

Today, we honour the hard work and dedication of people across all sectors — but we also pause to recognise the animals who work alongside us.

From service dogs who provide life-changing support, to search-and-rescue animals who save lives, to detection dogs who help keep our communities safe — animals play an important role in protecting and assisting people every single day.

These animals do not choose their roles. It is therefore our responsibility to ensure that their welfare is never compromised.

The SPCA is not opposed to working animals. However, we firmly believe that:

✔️ They must be treated with care, respect and dignity
✔️ Their physical and emotional needs must always be met
✔️ They must receive proper veterinary care, rest, and suitable living conditions
✔️ They must never be overworked, neglected, or exploited

Working animals give so much — and in return, they deserve nothing less than a life free from suffering.

This Workers’ Day, let’s honour all who work — and commit to protecting those who cannot speak for themselves.

Because welfare is not optional — it is a responsibility. 🐶🐴🐾

We celebrate Freedom Day on 27th April but as a Nation we still have a long way to go before we can celebrate the liberation of our beloved animals whose freedoms are all too often neglected.

Sadly, these freedoms are not available to the global stray dog & cat population either. Every living being should have the right to humane treatment. Hopefully, one day, impactful animal welfare regulations will exist worldwide.

• Freedom from hunger and thirst … by ready access to fresh water and a diet to maintain full health and vigour.

• Freedom from discomfort … by providing an appropriate environment including shelter and a comfortable resting area.

• Freedom from pain, injury or disease … by prevention, by rapid diagnosis and treatment.

• Freedom to express normal behaviour … by providing sufficient space, proper facilities and company of the animal’s own kind.

• Freedom from fear and distress … by ensuring conditions and treatment which avoid mental suffering.

Earth Day 2026 took place yesterday on Wednesday, April 22, 2026

As an annual global event, it marks 56 years of environmental action focused on themes like "Our Power, Our Planet" to promote sustainability, clean energy, and climate protection.

A day late but still important.
