Hi, I’m Dr. Jasmi Hira. I qualified as a veterinarian in 2024, driven by a lifelong passion for animals. I have a strong interest in surgery and am currently studying to obtain my postgraduate certificate in small animal surgery. Alongside surgery, I truly enjoy working with exotic species, especially birds and reptiles.

Having grown up in Bedfordview, it is a privilege to now be part of the team at Kloof Road Animal Clinic and serve the community I call home. Outside of the clinic, I can be found scuba diving and exploring the underwater world, while my indoor time is spent playing the piano or gaming.

One of my favourite parts of being a veterinarian is getting to know the unique personalities of each pet and the special bond they share with their families. I am so excited to be part of their journey and to provide compassionate, high-quality care for the animals that mean so much to the people of our community.

Meet Nala 🤎

A lion trapped in the body of a Pekingese is an apt description for this little fire cracker 😋

She has been a member of the Kloof Family since she was a puppy and we have spent the last three and a half years trying to convince her that coming to the vet is not that bad! 😄

Coming for vet visits has always been very stressful for little Nala and any attempts to comfort her or show her some love have always appeared unsuccessful… until her last few visits. She has recently been coming in with her tail wagging and even comes to get some love and cuddles while she’s here! Who knew she’d turn out to be a ‘lap patient’?! 🥰

While our jobs consist of many different things, one of the important parts of it is making sure that we create a safe and comfortable space for all the animals here at the clinic. It’s patients like this that fill our hearts and remind us that consistency, patience and the little things do make a difference, even if it’s three and a half years later! 😄🐾

We are happy to report that Nala seems to have finally decided that coming to the vet is in fact not that bad. Thank you for trusting us Nala ♥️

Your pets oral health is so important and is often something that you don’t realise is a problem until it progresses to a point where your pet is showing signs of discomfort.

Making sure that their teeth are clean and healthy is something we recommend you do at least once or twice a year by booking a free dental check with us. One of our vets can then have a look at your pets teeth and guide you on when your pet is in need of some dental work where they will scale and polish the teeth and remove any that may be causing an issue.

These beautiful puppies came in for their very first vaccinations and boy were we all too happy to give them some love and cuddles! 🥰
