About Us
It is comforting to know that your pet can be remembered and cared for in death just as we would care for a human loved one who has passed away. Not many of us are prepared for the death of our pet, whether it is sudden or the result of sickness or disease. One of the things to consider when your pet passes away is what you would like to happen to your pet’s remains. Whether your pet dies at home or is euthanised by your vet, you have the right to choose what you would like to do. Alternately, you can call Paw Bearers yourself. Paw Bearers was foundered in 2011 by Louise Foldi. Louise, being a pet owner herself, noticed that there wasn't a local pet cremation service available in Canberra. Pets were transported to Sydney to be cremated. Many pet owners didn't like the idea of sending their loved companions so far away to be cremated, so Louise imported a state of the art crematorium from America. This crematorium is situated in Queanbeyan, just on the border with Canberra. Louise lives in Canberra and has many furkids. Louise has worked in the animal industry for over 20 years and she understands that your pet is part of your family and deserves to be treated with the same respect and care that our human family does at the end of their days. If you choose a private cremation, your pet is the only pet in the cremation chamber. However, a lot of people don't have the budget for this. If you don't choose a private cremation you can be completely assured that your pet's ashes are the ashes that are returned to you. Louise practices strict quality control over the placement of pets in the chamber so you can have peace of mind. Paw Bearers staff are available to support you at the vet for that terrible final visit if needed and with as much notice as you can give. Paw Bearers Pet Cremations is dedicated to providing the highest level of service in caring for the needs of pet owners and their beloved pets. It is a family owned and operated business and Louise and the Paw Bearers team prides themselves in providing the attention to detail and quality of care that her clients expect. Because you care, we care.
