Check out this absolute unit of a Desert Kingsnake! 🫨 This huge female was a vivid example of the really interesting patterning on Desert Kings, and could not have been any friendlier for a wild snake picked up off the road during a storm 🥰

This is the Inland Taipan, the most venomous snake in the world - a long, fast, agile elapid species native to the barren outback of central Australia. Despite the fact that a single drop of its venom could kill 100 humans, this snake has NEVER actually killed a person because encounters in the wild are so rare.

Color variation in Lowlands Copperheads: these are 3 distinctly different Lowlands Copperheads (Austrelaps superbus) from the same range in southern Victoria, Australia. While the second and third, an adult and newborn baby, resemble each other with a dark brown upper color, a copper gradient, and a cream colored belly, you will occasionally see really vivid individuals like the first, with a much stronger bronze hue all around. How cool is that!

The Common Tree Snake (Dendrelaphis punctulatus) is a stunning and color variable native of eastern Australia, and one of only four Colubrid species in the country. Also known as Green Tree Snakes, these agile, arboreal snakes can vary from intense shades of bright green, yellow, dark green, and even bright blue in certain ranges. How adorable is this little juvenile? 🥺

Look at the SIZE of this enormous Sonoran Whipsnake 🤯 this common, nonvenomous Arizona native averages 3-4 feet, but this massive adult male was easily closer to 5. Whipsnakes, which share a family with Coachwhips, are one of the fastest snakes in North America, reaching speeds of 4-7 miles per hour - faster than a jogging human! 😮‍💨

To this day, this is one of the most interesting Australian Lowlands Copperheads I’ve ever seen! Not to be confused with the American copperhead, which is a small viper, these snakes (Austrelaps superbus) are medium sized elapids native to southern Australia - and pack a far more potent neurotoxic venom. This guy was quite fiesty as I released him after being rescued from a property, but I can’t blame him!

How cool is the insane pink and gray granite pattern on this big adult Southwestern Speckled Rattlesnake? 🤯 These are my absolute favorite rattlesnakes in the world, and their color variation and ability to camouflage in their rocky habitat is unmatched. This big girl was a little unhappy to have her afternoon nap disturbed, but I was able to calm her down enough that she curled up in the same spot and went right back to sleep afterwards 😊
