✈️ VVS GOES TO ORLANDO! 🌴👁️

We are SO excited to be heading to Orlando for the ACVO Conference! This trip is about learning, connecting, and bringing new ideas and knowledge back home to Veterinary Vision Specialists. 🧡

We’re also excited to meet the incredible veterinary ophthalmology community as we search for an amazing Veterinary Ophthalmologist to join our growing VVS team.

But more than anything, we’re going to represent Dr. Bosiack. ❤️‍🩹

ACVO has always been such a special event for her, and while she is away focusing on healing, we are incredibly proud to show up in her honor — representing the practice she built, the patients she loves, and the future she continues to inspire.

We can’t wait to learn, make new connections, see some familiar faces, and bring a little piece of VVS to Orlando. 🧡

❤️ Help us Light The Night for Dr. Ann Bosiack.

This year, we’re participating in Blood Cancer United’s Light The Night in honor of someone incredibly special to us — Dr. Ann Bosiack.

In July, Ann’s life changed when she was diagnosed with acute leukemia. Since then, she has faced chemotherapy, hospital stays, countless tests and procedures, and a journey none of us ever imagined she would have to take.

If you know Ann, you know how much of her life she has spent caring for others — her patients, their families, her friends, her colleagues, and most importantly, her children. Now it’s our turn to show up for her. ❤️

And right now, we have a very special goal.

✨ If we raise $1,000 by Wednesday, September 23, Ann will be honored with a special sign featuring her photograph and name displayed along the Richmond Light The Night walk route.

Our team at Veterinary Vision Specialists would LOVE to make that happen for her.

Every donation, whether it’s $5, $10, $25 or more, adds up. These funds support blood cancer research, patient and family resources, and advocacy through Blood Cancer United, formerly The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.

On November 7, 2026, we’ll gather for Richmond’s Light The Night and carry our lights for Ann, for those still fighting, for survivors, and in memory of those we’ve lost.

Because every breakthrough means another treatment option. Another birthday. Another holiday. Another ordinary day with the people you love.

Long days in vet med = LOTS of time on your feet. 🐾🩺

Lillian, one of our veterinary assistants here at Veterinary Vision Specialists, is showing off one of her shift essentials: compression socks from Dr. Woof! 🧦✨

Their 15–20 mmHg graduated compression is designed to support circulation and help reduce swelling, tired legs, and that heavy, achy feeling that can come after hours of standing and moving around the clinic. Bijou the Sphynx came in to see us and started her visit by giving Danielly ALL the snuggles and love. We were told she’s not typically the super-affectionate type, so naturally Danielly was soaking up every second of it.

Once cuddle time was over, Bijou decided it was time to clock in. She claimed our new exam chair and officially became Dr. Bijou for the day. 🩺We think she wears the title pretty well.

Then it was time for her actual doctor to get to work! Dr. Miller, DVM, MS, DACVO, performed a conjunctival pedicle graft to help protect and support Bijou’s cornea as it heals.
