Hey y’all! 👋🏼 I know I’ve been a little MIA, but this summer has been SO busy! 📈🙌🏼

Throughout June and July, I completed lots of pet sitting jobs, including 10 new clients! 🤩 I’ve absolutely loved spending most of my summer caring for so many wonderful pets and giving their owners peace of mind while they’re away.❤️ I am very grateful for all the support!! 🥹

🌡️ ☀️ HEAT WAVE ALERT 🌡️ ☀️

Our area is experiencing a dangerous heat wave, and while many of us can escape into air conditioning, our pets depend on **us** to keep them safe. Temperatures will reach 100 Fahrenheit this week!

Dogs can suffer from heat exhaustion and heat stroke in just minutes, even when they have access to water. High temperatures, humidity, hot pavement, and limited shade can quickly become life-threatening.

📢 Know the Law
Under City of Martinsville Municipal Code § 5-39 it is unlawful to tether a companion animal when the outside temperature is 32°F or below, or above 85°F, unless adequate shelter is provided.

Our Animal Control Officers are committed to educating our community and ensuring the safety and well-being of every animal. During this extreme heat, please check on your own pets and keep an eye out for animals that may be in distress.

⚠️ Signs of heat stroke include:
• Excessive panting
• Drooling
• Bright red or pale gums
• Weakness or stumbling
• Vomiting or diarrhea
• Collapse or loss of consciousness

If you notice these signs, move your pet to a cool area immediately, offer cool (not ice-cold) water, wet them with cool water, and seek veterinary care right away.

Please remember:
🐾 Bring pets indoors whenever possible.
🐾 Always provide fresh, cool water.
🐾 Make sure outdoor pets have continuous access to adequate shade and shelter.
🐾 Avoid walks during the hottest parts of the day, and remember that pavement can burn paws in seconds.
🐾 Never leave a pet in a parked vehicle—even for a few minutes.

A few simple precautions can save a life. ❤️🐶🐱
As always, you are our eyes and ears - if you see a pet being mistreated, left in the heat with no adequate shelter or water - say something.

Another job for a NEW client done ✅😃

Meet old man Forrest and his younger brother Lefty! 🐾🐶

These two were super sweet and loved getting pets! Lefty also enjoyed playing fetch with his spiky ball, while Forrest was more of a “lay on the porch and enjoy the view” kind of guy. 🎾☀️🌷

Their two cat siblings, Jax and Lottie, were adorable but very shy and didn’t come out much while I was there, so I couldn’t get any photos of them. 🐈🐈‍⬛ However, they made sure their food bowls were empty every time I showed up so they could get more! 😋

I had 2 meet and greets with new clients yesterday, and have another one tomorrow! 🤯 Stay tuned for those pet posts in June. Thank you all SO much for your support and for trusting me with your pets!! ❤️

I was a busy little bee last week!! 🐝✨
I completed 6 more jobs, 3 for NEW clients and 3 for return clients. 🤩

Job #1– 2 cats (Jed & Stormy)

Job #2– 1 cat (Maple), 2 bunnies (Honey Bun & Hazel), 1 rooster, and some chickens

Job #3– 2 dogs that are a mother/son duo (Max & Xena)

Job #4– 3 dogs (Sherman, Graeme, & Brice)

Job #5– 1 cat (Prince Kitty), and 1 chicken

Job #6– 2 dogs (Mick & Arnie)

Everyone was very well behaved and did great for me!! I love getting to meet/care for all of your pets and learn their unique personalities. 🥰

Thank you very much to all of my amazing clients for trusting me with your furry (and feathered) family members. It truly means so much to me! 🫶🏼
