Seeing as how it has been months since I have made a real update here I thought, what better time than now?
Change can be a wonderful thing.
Since moving salons I have had the pleasure of connecting with some old 4 legged friends and making a host of new ones!
My work world feels more peaceful and I can see a difference in myself and in the old pals who I have been grooming for YEARS.
Thank you to all my clients for sticking with me in this big life change.
Onward and upward!

I haven't posted in a good while but I had to jump on and pay tribute on one of my very favorite girls. This is Mandee and she recently crossed the rainbow bridge. 🌈 I had some very big feelings about this so I took a week to process and even still I write this through tears. I had the honor of grooming Mandee for many years. I always looked forward to seeing her sweet cheerful face and giving her a slow and comforting salon experience. I often would toss a couple towels in the dryer during her bath so I could wrap her up in them after her bath. She loved her warm towels.
This is the hardest part of the work that I do but I am honored to be trusted with the care of these sacred friends. Mandee had such a soft and loving heart. She was always full of tail wags and SO many kisses. I always told my coworkers that if her owners had ever needed a home for Mandee I wouldn't have given it a second thought, she would have had a bed waiting before I even took her home. She was always gentle and forgiving when I had to do some things she didn't like (like shaving her paw pads). And I loved how her little teeth stuck out on the bottom. She had the kindest eyes. I truly always felt a connection to her from the first time I ever groomed her.
Mandee passed peacefully at home and she had the best family who cared so much for her. I am so happy that they allowed me to be a special part of her life.
Old dogs are my very favorite to work with. They deserve so much love and I am always happy to give it.
RIP Mandee. I will think of you often and I will always miss you.

A Paws-itive New Chapter ✂️✨
After 6 years of wagging tails and pampering care for your pets at Stubby's, it’s time for me to hang up my scissors there for the last time. My last day will be April 10th!
I am deeply grateful for the years spent with this team. From starting there right in the middle of the pandemic, I’ve grown so much as a pet stylist. I have worked with so many talented groomers during my years there. To my coworkers: you truly are the best in the business and have made every day so much fun. It has been such an honor to work beside you all, and I will miss our time together in the shop.
While it’s hard to say goodbye, I am so excited to announce that I’m moving to a new salon that truly shares my values. After 23 years in the grooming industry, I’ve learned that the environment we work in makes all the difference. I’ll be moving to a calm, low-stress space that prioritizes continued education, allowing me to keep providing the high-quality care and styling your pets deserve.
To my wonderful clients: You and your pets are the heart of what I do. Whether we’re working on a perfect teddy bear face, a hand scissor look, or a gentle groom for your seniors, your trust means everything to me.

This precious baby recently crossed the rainbow bridge. I only got to groom Jolie a few times but I was honored to be a part of that time and provide her with her last, loving, gentle, and luxurious grooms. She was one of the sweetest Scotties I ever worked with. Just look at that salt and peppered face. What a doll. Rest easy beautiful girl.

This is Penny Lane and she is 15 years old. She has a hard time standing these days and has lost a significant amount of her vision which makes her startle easy when anything approaches her face. She can no longer tolerate having her legs manipulated to get a clean and tidy groom so I just work slow and steady with her and get extra help when needed. The focus is on comfort, not perfection. I am working on training her to lie down for most of the groom now but she has spent her whole life thinking she needs to stand on the grooming table so having to lie down for it now is a little confusing but I am more than happy to accommodate her in any way she needs. Old dogs are my favorite to groom but they do take quite a bit more patience, time and grace. When I say I love this dog I mean it with all my heart. I LOVE this dog.
