✨ I think one of the most beautiful things in life is finding something you genuinely LOVE… and then realizing you get to make a career out of it. 🥹💗
After 21 years of grooming, I can honestly say this has never been just a job to me. 🐾✂️
I love the art of grooming. I love the challenge, the transformations, the creativity, the tiny details, and the constant learning. I love taking a dog who may come in nervous, uncomfortable, or unsure… and helping them leave feeling comfortable, happy, and like the best version of themselves. 🥰✨
But somewhere along the way, grooming became so much more than haircuts.
It taught me patience.
It taught me compassion.
It taught me to listen without words.
It taught me that every dog is an individual, with their own personality, fears, quirks, boundaries, and way of communicating. 🐶💕
And honestly? The dogs have taught me just as much as I’ve taught them.
They’ve taught me when to slow down.
When to be gentle.
When to be confident.
When to give a little extra reassurance.
And when trust needs to be earned instead of expected. 🥹🐾
There have absolutely been hard days. Exhausting days. Days when my body hurts, my brain is tired, and I wonder how I still have more dogs to groom. 😂😅
But even on those days, I don’t find myself wishing I’d chosen a different path.
Because I found my passion. ❤️
Not everyone gets to say that.
This career has given me far more than clippers, scissors, fluff, and cute haircuts. ✂️🐩 It has given me purpose. It has challenged me, changed me, pushed me to grow, and introduced me to so many incredible dogs and people along the way.
And after all these years, I still get excited about learning something new. I still want to perfect my craft. I still get that little feeling of accomplishment when I look at a finished groom and think, “Yep… I love what I do.” 🥹✨
I truly believe a little piece of my heart goes into every dog that stands on my table. 💗
I don’t know exactly where this grooming journey will take me from here, but after 21 years, I know this much for sure…
I found what I’m meant to do. And I wouldn’t trade this crazy, exhausting, rewarding, furry journey for anything. 🐾💗✂️✨
