Sully
A dog loves us unconditionally. But when ones heart has been broken by previous dogs, we don’t think it’ll ever have room for another.

His mommas, absolute lovers of Carin Terriers and heartbroken by the loss of sweet AJ and Riley🌈. One didn’t think they would have the room or ability to love another again.

Fast forward to Sully, who found a way into their broken hearts. An absolute treasure, a therapy dog, a best friend.

He brought so much happiness, love, and joy and unconditional love to not only his mom’s but to the world.

The unexpected loss of Sully is a pain that will forever hurt.
But his love will keep us going stronger and stronger, to keep his memory alive.

I thank his mom’s for the same love Sully gave to them by trusting me with their sweet boy.

Hearts are broken. Tears will fall randomly.

But it’s only because he was such an amazing dog.

We miss and love you Misfit Sully.

One year ago Susie and I had to say goodbye to our boy. Sully was more than a dog — he was a light in this world.

With his golden fur, gentle eyes, and endlessly loving heart, Sully had a way of making people feel safe, seen, and comforted. He walked through life with kindness at the center of everything he did. Whether he was asking for another meal, ready for one more walk, or simply resting beside someone who needed him, Sully gave love freely and without hesitation.

He changed our life in ways we both will carry forever. In our darkest moments, he stayed close. He taught us compassion when we struggled to give it to ourselves. He taught us empathy through his quiet understanding, his patience, and the way he seemed to know exactly when comfort was needed most. He reminded the both of us that healing does not always come through words — sometimes it comes through presence, loyalty, and unconditional love.

As a registered therapy dog, Sully touched countless lives. He brought comfort to people during difficult days and gave warmth to those who needed hope. There was something extraordinary about him: people felt better simply because he was near. That was his gift.
To the world, Sully may have been a golden retriever. To Suz and I he was family, protector, teacher, and soul companion. The paw prints he left behind are not just on floors or walking trails, but on hearts.

We miss the sound of him following us, the excitement he had for every walk, and the way he always seemed ready for a snack no matter how recently he had eaten. We miss his steady presence and the comfort of knowing he was there.

But we will never lose what he gave to us. Sully’s love continues in every act of kindness he inspired, every life he touched, and every piece of compassion he awakened in us. Some souls are too beautiful to ever truly leave us.

Thank you, Sully, for walking beside all of us through this life. You were deeply loved, and you always will be.
