🌟 FUN FACT FRIDAY - Megan ⭐

Say hello to Megan, our Administrator and Placement Student from Harper Adams University, who joined Dyfed in September 2025.

☕ Fuel of choice?
A good cup of tea with biscuits on the side. Simple, but effective!

🐄 Favourite animal?
An Ayrshire or Red Holstein cow. A true livestock enthusiast.

🚜 Best part of working at Dyfed?
For Megan, it's all about getting out on farm. She loves the variety that every visit brings and never quite knowing what each day will involve. She also enjoys meeting our wonderful clients. Back in the office, however, she admits that Eleri's lemon cake is pretty hard to beat!

🍫 Go-to treat of the day?
A Starbucks Caramel Iced Latte or a bag of Cadbury Caramel Nibbles.

😂 Most memorable work moment?
Being chased across a field by two very excited donkeys while out with Will. Definitely a day to remember!

🌍 What keeps her busy outside of work?
Young Farmers, baking, and planning her next holiday adventure.

🎓 Something clients might be surprised to know?
Megan is currently training to become a Livestock Nutritionist at Harper Adams University.

We're delighted to have Megan as part of the team and look forward to seeing where her placement year takes her! 🌟

🐏🐑 Bluetongue Vaccinations Underway 🐄🦙

Our Vet Tech Cydney was out and about yesterday carrying out Bluetongue vaccinations for our clients.

With confirmed cases of Bluetongue now in Carmarthenshire, Swansea and Pembrokeshire, vaccination remains one of the most important tools available to help protect your stock.

A big thank you to Will’s Farm for capturing Cydney hard at work! 📸🐐

If you’re considering vaccinating but only have a smaller number of animals, don’t forget we also have our upcoming Bluetongue Vaccine Broach Days:

📅 15th September
📅 5th October

☎️ Call the Carmarthen team on 01267 220404 for more information or to book

💉🐑 Bluetongue vaccinations at Wills Farm

A big thank you to Cydney from Dyfed Farm Vets for coming out to vaccinate our animals against Bluetongue.

Bluetongue is a virus spread by biting midges and can cause fever, swelling, lameness and illness in livestock. Vaccinating helps protect our flock and reduce the risk of severe disease.

Keeping our animals protected! 🐑🦙🐐❤️

⚠️ BLUETONGUE UPDATE – CONFIRMED CASE ⚠️

Although we are continuing to see a number of suspected Bluetongue cases across the area, we can now confirm that there has been a confirmed case of Bluetongue in the Ponthenri area.

We strongly encourage all livestock keepers to remain vigilant and monitor their animals closely for any signs of disease.

🐑🐄 Vaccination remains the best way to protect your stock. If you have not yet vaccinated and would like to discuss vaccination or have any concerns about your animals, please contact the practice.
