Auburn Veterinary Specialists - Gulf Shores AVS-GS is a referral-only facility offering Surgery, Internal Medicine, Dermatology & Ophthalmology.

Auburn Veterinary Specialists offers six exam rooms, two operating rooms, intensive and critical care areas, a treatment suite and endoscopy room, a clinical laboratory, a pharmaceutical dispensing area, comprehensive imaging capabilities (MRI, CT, ultrasound, endoscopy and radiography), an infectious diseases isolation area, pet nutrition kitchen and separate housing capabilities for dogs and cats.

Important Service Update

Effective July 1, 2026, Internal Medicine services at Auburn Veterinary Specialists – Gulf Shores will be temporarily discontinued while we work to restaff the department. We are grateful to Dr. Andrew McGraw for his commitment to our clients and wish him well as he relocates to be closer to family.

We are grateful for the trust our referring veterinarians and clients place in our team, and we appreciate your patience during this transition.

During this transition period: • Internal Medicine cases can be referred to the Veterinary Teaching Hospital in Auburn, Alabama. • Established Internal Medicine patients from our Gulf Shores campus may continue scheduling follow-up appointments as needed through the Auburn University campus location by calling 334-844-4690 or visiting vetmed.auburn.edu.

Our team is actively working to restore this service as quickly as possible, and we look forward to caring for your pets again soon.
