Duke had a good vet visit today. I was worried about a mass on his chest but it’s just a lipoma ☺️ We’re still working on trust and getting him comfortable, progress is slow but it’s there. He’s such a sweet boy beneath his fear.

This handsome boy is Duke. He’s a 12 yr old GSDx. His owner has Parkinson’s and was no longer able to care for him. He’s such a sweet (and a little scared) boy. He got a thorough bath, brush and blow dry.
Side note: please make sure you have solid plans for all your pets if you’re not able to care for them because in our short rescue experience, family is not as supportive for your pets as we’d like them to be 😞

Today was good news/bad news at the vet. Ruby got her bandage off!! I can’t tell you how relieved I am that her cancer hasn’t started growing back yet. She’s still in the cone until we can be sure she won’t mess with her leg.
Bad news: I took Little Man back to our vet because his coughing (suspected kennel cough) wasn’t getting better and none of our other dogs have picked it up yet. More x rays show he has lung cancer that couldn’t be seen on his previous films. So he’s getting some medication treatment to help him breathe more easily and we’re keeping a close eye on him to make sure she’s comfortable and happy!
