What a way to end the day! I got home from work to a highly anticipated package! I received these gorgeous eggs today from my friend Melissa at Opry Hill! I have been waiting for these for quite some time, and I have to say, the wait was totally worth it! I have to give kudos to Melissa for being so amazing! She always stayed in contact with me over the months, keeping me up to date on the progress and productivity of her flock. I wholeheartedly appreciate how dedicated and transparent she was with me throughout this entire process. Crazy to think that I won these gorgeous chocolate diamonds from a showcase on Chicken Stickers! These amazing eggs are from The Funny Farm 03 and they are some of the darkest BCM’s that I have received! I was so amazed when I unboxed them. The picture truly does their rich color no justice! Anyone who knows me knows how passionate I am about Welsummers! So, when I saw my friend Amy from Broke barn bird farm post a picture of what Lacie Harkey’s hens—which happen to be from her lines—are laying, you best believe I was in her inbox! I finally received them today, and let me tell you… I was BLOWN AWAY! Lacie actually told me she was embarrassed to send me these eggs because they were “too plain-looking” compared to what her girls normally lay…
WHAT?! LOOK AT THESE BEAUTIES! The picture does NOT do these eggs justice! The rich terracotta color and gorgeous blooms are absolutely stunning!
