We’re not an assembly-line salon, and we don’t believe in rushing dogs in and out just to fit more appointments into the day.

We offer one-on-one, kennel-free luxury grooming where your dog receives our full attention, patience, and care. Every appointment is intentionally scheduled around the individual dog.

We’re currently welcoming NEW CLIENTS who value the same things we do: quality over quantity, a calm environment, and a higher standard of care and cleanliness.

New salon policy effective immediately:

Dog dads are no longer authorized to make executive haircut decisions without written approval from mom. 😂✍️

Because “just cut it short and give him a Mohawk” is NOT enough information.
And we are not taking the blame when mom sees him. 🤣

Signed permission slips are strongly encouraged. 💀✂️

Dog dads, we love you… but we’ve learned our lesson. 😂

Let’s chat about an uncomfortable conversation for a quick minute 😣

Something I hear pretty often from potential new clients is:

“I’m looking for a new groomer because my last groomer cut my dog.”

I will never immediately blame or speak badly about another groomer based on that statement alone.

Why? Because I wasn’t there.

I didn’t see the dog’s behavior, the condition of the coat or skin, whether there was matting, whether the dog moved unexpectedly, or what happened in the seconds leading up to the injury.

That doesn’t mean negligence doesn’t happen—it absolutely can. But there is a BIG difference between an accident and negligence.

We work with live, moving animals using extremely sharp tools. Even the most experienced and careful groomer can have an accident.

Not every small, superficial nick automatically requires a vet visit either. Some can be appropriately cared for and monitored, while others absolutely require veterinary attention.

What matters to me is how the groomer handled it. Were they honest? Did they tell the owner? Did they properly care for the injury and recommend a vet when necessary?

I will always hold myself and our industry to a high standard—but I won’t condemn another groomer over an accident I wasn’t there to witness.

Accidents happen. Negligence is different. And there’s room for both accountability and understanding in this industry.

✨MEET THE TEAM ✨

Hi everyone! I’m Alexis, but most people call me Lexie! I joined the Grooming by Josephine team in May and I’m so excited to officially introduce myself as a Pet Stylist! I’m so grateful to be part of a team that shares my passion for providing compassionate care and quality grooming for every pet that walks through our doors.

I’ve always had a passion for animals and my journey began when I joined 4-H at just 9 years old. Growing up involved in 4-H gave me a strong foundation in animal care and sparked a lifelong dream of working with animals.

At 18, I started working at a veterinary clinic with the goal of becoming a veterinary technician. After three years in the veterinary field, I realized my true passion lay elsewhere. Everything changed when I became a dog bather at a local grooming salon. It didn’t take long for me to discover that grooming was where I truly belonged.

I went on to build my skills in corporate grooming for two and a half years before finding my home at Grooming by Josephine’s. From the moment I met Josephine, I knew this was exactly where I was meant to be.

Outside of the salon, I’m a mom to an amazing 2-year-old son and a pet mom to a Corgi, Miniature Schnauzer, and cat. I’m also still involved in 4-H as a leader, where I get to mentor the next generation of animal lovers.

One thing you’ll quickly notice about me is that my hair is always changing. I love experimenting with different colors and styles!

I’m so happy to be part of the Grooming by Josephine family and can’t wait to meet you and your furry family members!

✨With careful consideration we’ve decided to grow our team✨

Due to the number of calls we’ve received from clients searching for professional cat grooming, we’ve decided it’s time to bring a Pet Stylist onto our team who is experienced and confident grooming both dogs AND cats!

We’re hoping to find the perfect addition before the holiday madness officially begins.

This will be a part-time position to start, with the possibility of going full-time. Pay depends on experience.

If you’re an experienced Pet Stylist who takes pride in quality work and would love to join our team, we’d love to hear from you!
