September 28 is World Rabies Day. Rabies is a uniformly fatal disease of mammals and seems to be on the rise with recent incidents involving Beavers, Otters, and other wildlife. Please consider vaccinating any unvaccinated pets regardless of indoor status. I have personally cared for cats who were unvaccinated because of indoor only status and a rabid animal gained access to their home. These cats were put to sleep because of this. A totally avoidable outcome.
