🎈 No animals were harmed in taking this photo. 🦅
Thanks to Holly Chandler for spotting this emu playing with something across the safari. When we got closer, we discovered it was a Mother’s Day balloon that had traveled and landed where many animals live.
This got us thinking. Louisiana is considering restrictions on balloon releases because balloons often end up in fields, forests, waterways, and animal habitats.
We completely understand the desire to honor and remember loved ones. But seeing this balloon in an animal enclosure is a reminder that what goes up eventually comes down somewhere.
Instead of releasing balloons, what about planting a tree, flowers, or a special plant that can be cared for and visited for years to come? 🌳❤️
What are your thoughts?
Should Tennessee ban balloon releases?
