To the dog that is the reason why everyone is here…
Happy 9th Birthday🥹

While 9 might not seem like a monumental achievement, I do not take that number for granted. One thing I have learned over the last 8 years of being in this industry is that our dogs’ years are not guaranteed. The number of student dogs and colleagues’ dogs that we loved like our own that didn’t get to see their 4th, or 5th, or 6th birthdays is far more than I like to think about. I hope to never take a single day with these guys for granted 🥲

Charlee was the puppy who got dealt the most unfortunate series of events that forced me to learn and to be better. We spent 2 years studying, working our tails off, and devoted to behavior modification training to give her her quality of life back. She challenged me in every way possible, and paved the way for every dog that came after her. Every student taught at CCT— their every win, every “oh my gosh my dog can actually do this moment”— was made possible because Charlee showed us it could be done. While she might not interact with every dog we train, her spirit is swirled into everything they do. 💛💛

So today, give your dog an extra treat, take a little longer walk, throw that ball one more time while you still can 🫶

Dog training shouldn’t feel like a battle between you and your dog….

We know how frustrating it is to love your dog so much… and still dread the walk. The doorbell. Taking them somewhere new. Having people over. 😅

That’s why there are a few things we just won’t do.
We won’t slap the same training plan on every dog. We won’t expect your dog to know something they were never clearly taught. And we definitely won’t train all the personality out of the little weirdo you love🤪

Our goal has always been pretty simple: help you understand your dog, help your dog understand you, and give you both the skills to actually enjoy life together!

Because well-behaved dogs get to do more cool stuff.
And we think your dog deserves to be invited. 🤝🐾

🎓 Winston graduated our 1-Week Custom Board & Train Program! 🐾

Winston first joined us as a tiny puppy, where he learned how to build confidence, navigate the world, and establish his basic obedience. Unfortunately, a leg injury around 6 months old followed by major surgery at 9 months meant he missed out on some valuable time during adolescence—a stage when dogs are still developing, learning, and going through important periods of social and environmental development.

Now at 1 year old, Winston came back for a week to polish up those skills he first learned as a baby, and make them more reliable as he’s grown up. We focused on things like recall and place, while introducing remote collar training to help reinforce those skills and give him clear, consistent communication.

It was so fun getting to see the little puppy we started with grow into the confident young dog he is today! 🩵

Big congratulations to our little pal Axel! He graduated our 2-Week Manners at Home Board & Train Program 🎓

Axel may be a little mixed-breed guy, but he’s here to break all the little-dog stereotypes! This guy is eager to learn, loves a challenge, and definitely isn’t a purse dog 👜🤪

He absolutely loves agility, and he’s a great reminder that dogs of all sizes can have a blast learning new skills, building confidence, and having a job to do!

During his 2-week stay, Axel developed a fantastic foundation of obedience and learned how to take those skills out into the real world. We hit the road for several field trips, including Cabela’s and a couple city parks, giving him plenty of opportunities to practice listening and staying focused around new sights, sounds, and distractions.

Axel was such a fun little guy to work with, and we can’t wait to see what he takes on next! 🐾❤️ Congratulations, Axel!
