We are excited to introduce Sofia, who joined our team in January. Sofia’s passion for animal care began early when she took veterinary medicine as an elective during high school, sparking an interest that would eventually lead her into the veterinary field. After spending several years working in customer service retail, she felt called to make a change and pursue a career working with animals. That journey led her to Heartwood, where she feels incredibly grateful to be part of such a supportive and compassionate team.
Animals have always been a huge part of Sofia’s life. She shares her home with two lovable dogs, both coincidentally named Chloe, along with four horses named Cody, Percy, Dexter, and Jack Jack. Outside of work, Sofia loves spending time outdoors with her family and animals, whether that means relaxing outside in the evenings, horseback riding, fishing, riding four wheelers, or visiting the beach and mountains.
One of Sofia’s favorite parts of veterinary medicine is helping nervous pets feel more comfortable and creating positive experiences for both patients and clients. She feels thankful every day to work alongside such caring coworkers while doing what she loves most: helping animals.
