🐾♥️ We are actively seeking Veterinarians (DVM) in the Cleveland, Pittsburgh, and West Virginia northern panhandle areas to extend our In-Home Pet Euthanasia services into these regions. Since we’re based in Youngstown, OH, we sadly have to turn away many clients in these areas due to the travel distance.

If you’re a Vet who is interested, here are some of the details:

💼 Work as much as you want, whenever you want - set your schedule; feel free to start small and increase your workload as you go.

💰 Privately owned - Better compensation than large corporations - no “penalties” for working more!

☎️ Reception staff already in place - you communicate with us, we communicate directly with clients for you.

📅 Online scheduling capabilities with great visibility in these geographic areas for maximum exposure to potential clients

🌈 Crematory support already in place for your clients’ aftercare.

🩺 Mentorship, DVM support, and training available if you’re a little uneasy about performing such delicate appointments. Join one of our Vets on a few of their appointments to get a good feel for the job, and to make sure you’re confident before you begin.

♥️🐾 We are very excited to welcome Christine Simko Monfort DVM (Dr. Kris) to our staff! Dr. Kris has been with us for several months now and we couldn’t be happier with how she has comfortably stepped into this role. The addition of Dr. Kris has allowed us to reach so many more pets and families in need, and the feedback we have received has only been overwhelmingly positive. We are lucky to have her, and her husband, Dr. Dan, as part of our team. Read more about them below! ♥️🐾

“Hello, I am Christine Simko Monfort, aka “Dr. Kris”. My husband, "Dr. Dan" and I recently moved to the Youngstown area after retiring from veterinary practice in Columbus. I was born and raised here, received my BS from YSU, and later in life my DVM from Ohio State. Dan and I met at Ohio State, where he received his DVM and PhD.

In Columbus we had a “mom and pop” type small animal practice where our clients were like family. Often we would make routine or sick home visits when it was difficult for an owner to bring their pet to us, or it was too stressful for the pet. When end of life decisions were made, we performed many euthanasias for our clients in their homes, which we felt was quite comforting for both client and pet.

After a long recovery from a troublesome knee surgery I began looking to return to Veterinary Medicine in some part-time way. Through a very good friend I learned of Comfort Crossing. Although dealing with euthanasia is the most difficult part of being a veterinarian, I believe it is a blessing for our pet family members to have their last moments be at home with their loved ones and peacefully leave this earth. We are grateful for the opportunity to join in Comfort Crossing’s mission to serve you and your pet in helping make a difficult time hopefully a little less difficult.

Currently we live in Canfield with our cats - Mae, Baci, Ella and Caterina, and our dog, Daisy. In our spare time, we both enjoy reading, cooking, and many outdoor activities. Dan is an accomplished woodworker and craftsman, who looks forward to yearly fly fishing in Montana, and keeps very busy. I had always been involved with dance and singing, and, at last, am finding some outlets here for those activities. I also love to swim, and the beach is my happy place!”

As the holiday season continues, we would like to express our gratitude to all of the wonderful pet owners we have come across during our first few months of business.

We have been welcomed into so many loving homes, and we are very thankful for the kind words, reviews, and referrals from owners and vet clinics alike. You have helped us reach a lot of great families, and a lot of great pets who are ready to cross the rainbow bridge from the comfort of their home.

As we approach 2024, we will be offering increased appointment times, with an eye toward providing financing options for those sudden, unexpected turns.

“I just want to say thank you again for making such a painful time-peaceful and beautiful for us and Barbara. After you left, Maisie said her goodbyes as well. The two never were much for snuggling in the same bed, so it really was out of the ordinary and amazed us all (aren't animals the best). Had we not done this at home, Maisie wouldn't have been able to be part of it. So again, thank you for what you do. I know it really meant the world to us.”
