I hit publish on a new post today… and then realized I’ve actually written about this same thing before, back in April. But five months in a dog’s life is a whole chapter, and so much has changed.

Quill and I have created new routines, started new activities, and bonded while navigating a full year since Tinkerbell passed.

This article is about going from a two to one-dog household and intentionally waiting to add a canine family member.

I cried for a dog I never met and wrote about a dog mom I don’t know — because grief recognizes grief. Tucker Budzyn’s passing and his mom’s raw honesty brought back every emotion from losing my own heart dog.

I wrote a blog post to honor that connection.
