Us too, so we set out to create something different, with the care and comfort of your canine and feline family members in mind! Country Comfort is a family owned and operated boarding kennel fully staffed by dog and cat lovers who treat your pet as they would their own. Your dog will enjoy four to five t

imes a day hand walking by our caring staff, exercise in our grass play yards and the security of clean and bright kennels. We don't have over-the-top dog couches and TVs, we don't have sterile guillotine gates with concrete runs - what we do have is a safe, friendly facility and staff filled with the mind-engaging activities and interactions dogs crave. For our feline guests, we offer a separate cat area with kitty condos. Call it a double standard, but the cats DO get their own couch to lounge on, just like at home, plus plenty of toys and social interaction throughout the day! Our location is unbeatable - conveniently located from both Route 34 and Interstate 88 in Yorkville, IL. You must be thinking that our prices would match such a convenient location and great services, but compare us and you'll see that our prices that are drastically lower with a higher caliber of care than other boarding facilities. All-in-all you'll find it well worth the trip to bring your pet to Country Comfort! Combined, our staff has over 50 years of professional animal management. We hope that your pet enjoys the time he or she spends with us as much as we enjoy spending time with them and allowing you the peace and security of mind that comes from knowing your four-legged family members are well cared for!

Easter Safety Reminders 🐣🧺🐰

With Easter tomorrow, remember to keep chocolate, candy, and Easter grass out of reach of your pets. Even small amounts of chocolate or candy can be toxic, and swallowing grass or wrappers can cause dangerous intestinal blockages, both serious risks for your furry friends.

Wishing your pets a paws-itively fun and safe Easter! 🐶🐱💛

While some dogs are busy collecting their favorite sticks this spring, we recommend making sure they’re protected from ticks too.

After outdoor adventures, it’s always a good idea to check your pet for ticks and make sure they’re protected with a reliable prevention.

Protecting your pets so they can keep enjoying their favorite outdoor activities (and sticks). 🐾

Freezing temperatures on their way! Freezing temps are on the way, keep outdoor adventures short and snuggles long. 🐾💙

Your dog just went out the back door alone. You have 60 seconds before a coyote can strike.

RIGHT NOW: Coyote mating season (next 4-6 weeks). Males are territorial, aggressive, and hunting small pets.

What happens: Silent. Fast. Your pet is gone before you hear anything.

What to do TODAY:
→ NEVER let pets out alone (day or night)
→ Leash walks only (even in your yard)
→ Scan yard before opening door
→ Motion lights + air horn by door

Your dog trusts you to protect them. They can't protect themselves from a 40-pound predator.

Go outside WITH them. Every. Single. Time.

You didn't think we forgot our feline friends, did you?! The coldest month of the year is here and our feline friends need a little extra help staying safe and cozy too!

❄ Cats are best kept indoors during extreme cold, even feral kitties will need a warm space

❄ Check warm spots like car hoods or garages before starting vehicles

❄ Extra cozy blankets and beds are always appreciated

❄ Never leave pets in cold cars or garages, there is no escape to find warmth

❄ Fresh water should never be frozen

❄ If you wouldn’t stand outside in it, neither should they

Let’s keep noses warm, paws safe, and whiskers frost-free all January long 💙

Stay cozy, feline friends!

The coldest month of the year is here, and while we’re layering up, our pets are wondering why their toes feel like popsicles.

❄️ Keep potty breaks short, quick in and out

❄️ Wipe paws after walks to remove salt and ice melt

❄️ Monitor for shivering, lifting paws, or refusing to walk, these signs mean it's time to head in

❄️ Sweaters aren't just cute, they're cozy for shorter haired friends

❄️ Never leave pets in cold cars or garages

❄️ Make sure fresh water isn’t frozen

❄️ If you wouldn't stand outside, neither should they

Let’s keep tails wagging, noses warm and paws safe all January long

Stay cozy friends! ❤️

We love a good celebration, but for pets, New Year’s Eve can be a little ruff 🐾

Keep the night safe by:

• Giving pets a cozy, quiet hangout away from the noise

• Keeping party snacks, drinks, and sweets out of paw’s reach

• Double-checking collars, tags, and microchips are up to date

• If your pet has been prescribed medication for noise anxiety like fireworks, tonight may be a great time to use it, just be sure you have enough on hand to get them through the festivities. Call us if a refill is needed!

A little prep now means fewer midnight surprises later!

We wish you and your pets a safe and Happy New Year! 🎉

Holiday plans are in full swing, and with that comes the potential for pet holiday chaos! 🎄🐾

As you plan to celebrate with friends and family, don’t forget to keep your pets safe.

A few quick reminders:

• Secure food, treats, and leftovers, many holiday favorites aren’t pet-friendly

• Keep doors and gates closed with guests coming and going, it is easy for pets to sneak out when not paying attention

• Put away ribbons, tinsel, and small décor that curious paws may grab and ingest, foreign ingestions can lead to intestinal blockages

• Make sure your pet has a calm space to relax if the house gets busy

A little planning goes a long way toward a happy, stress-free holiday for everyone, two-legged and four-legged alike.

We wish you a safe and joyful holiday! 💚
