In this workshop, Dr. Rosemary LoGiudice will guide you through how to truly see your dog—looking at structure, gait, and movement in a way that brings clarity to both training and performance.

We’ll explore how a dog’s physical structure influences how they move, how they perform in sport, and even how they respond to training. You’ll learn what to watch for, how to recognize efficient vs. compensatory movement, and how subtle changes in gait can give you valuable information about your dog’s comfort, balance, and overall well-being.

This isn’t about becoming an expert in anatomy—it’s about learning how to observe in a way that helps you make better decisions for your dog.

Whether you’re working through behavior challenges, building sport skills, or simply want a deeper understanding of your dog, this workshop will give you practical tools you can use right away.

You’ll walk away with:
A clearer eye for evaluating your dog’s structure and movement
An understanding of how movement impacts performance and learning
Insight into how physical comfort (or discomfort) can influence behavior
Practical observation skills you can apply in training and everyday life

This is a unique opportunity to connect the dots between body, movement, and behavior—so you can better support the dog in front of you.

Registration is now open! https://foryourk9.dogbizpro.com/public/registration/events.aspx?event=23229

“What You See Is What You Get — Observing Structure, Gait & Movement”

What if the way your dog moves could tell you exactly what they need from you?

Transmitted through tick bites, Lyme disease can be hard to detect and cause serious, recurring health issues. It's best to prevent it by preventing tick bites.

— Addendum: unlike most other diseases transmitted by the blacklegged /deer tick that take hours to transmit, the Powassan Virus can be transmitted to its host in as little as 15 minutes of attachment. — Ticks infected with Powassan Virus have been found in Winnebago County, Illinois. Just one more reason to use tick repellent and check yourselves carefully for ticks after being outside. Protect yourselves and your animals against ticks.
Current knowledge is that Powassan Virus affects (can be lethal) people and horses, but not dogs. There is no vaccine against Powassan Virus.

This is a valuable study, and I don’t think the results are particularly surprising for anyone who understands how careful selection of desired genetic traits works when breeding purebred animals.

🐕 A new study from the RVC has revealed that three popular designer Poodle-crossbreeds (often generically called Doodles), Cockapoos, Labradoodles and Cavapoos, often display higher levels of undesirable behaviour than their purebred parent breeds. As the first UK study of its kind, these findings challenge widespread public perceptions that these Doodle breed dogs are easier to train or especially suited to family homes with children compared to purebred dogs. The results also provide vital information which can assist prospective owners deciding which type of dog to welcome into their family.
