With the candy bowl filling up, a quick reminder for pet families.

Chocolate, xylitol, and raisins are all dangerous for pets, and candy wrappers can cause problems of their own. Keep the stash somewhere your pet cannot reach, and remind the kids to do the same.

If your pet gets into something they should not, call us right away at (757) 898-8433.

Happy Global Cat Day to every cat and the people who serve them.

Cats are famously good at acting like nothing is wrong, even when something is. That quiet toughness is exactly why regular checkups matter so much for them, indoor cats included.

If it has been a while since your cat's last visit, call us at (757) 898-8433!

Today is Pet Obesity Awareness Day, and it is a good reminder that those extra treats add up.

Carrying extra weight makes everyday movement harder on your pet and can affect their comfort and energy over time. The encouraging part is that small changes to food, portions, and activity really do make a difference.

Not sure where your pet stands? Call us to schedule a weight check and a nutritional consultation!

As the mornings get cooler, you might notice your older pet moving a little slower.

Stiffness after a nap, hesitation at the stairs, or less interest in a favorite game are all symptoms you should contact your veterinarian to discuss.

It is easy to write these off as just getting older, but there is often a lot we can do to help them feel better.

If your senior seems off lately, give us a call at (757) 898-8433!

PUP PARENT ALERT - MAXIMUM ZOOMIES. MINIMUM BOREDOM.

Our Doggie Day Care is open Monday–Friday and is designed to keep tails wagging all day long!

Here’s what makes day care at our hospital special -

🐾Doctor at the ready - If a concern comes up, your pup has care right when they need it.

🐾Three HUGE connecting play yards - Plenty of room to run, wrestle, and explore.

🐾Individual attention from our team - Even the most playful pups sometimes need a break. Whether they want some one-on-one love, or just a moment of extra pets, we make sure every pup gets it.

Big space. Big fun. And peace of mind.

Ready to add some weekday enrichment to your pal's routine? Call, text, or shoot us an email to learn more about our day care program!

Happy Hump Day - Yes, that's a camel! 😂

We thought we would share a few more pictures from our exciting weekend at the Creatures Great and Small Parade! It was such a blast to be a part of this event. Cheyenne, one of our veterinary assistants, was awarded "most creative” for her costume and Mary, our horse obsessed treatment lead, was lucky enough to find a mini horse who needed a walking buddy.

Huge thanks to Amy of for making this amazing event possible!

At Grafton, we board a wide variety of animals, and sometimes that means getting a little creative to make sure every pet feels happy, comfortable, and cared for no matter their species.

For Dottie, Darla and Daisy, that meant an indoor splash pool. For Ori, well, he prefers a hose straight to the face.

Got a pet (feathered, furry, or something in between)? We'd love to make them feel at home🧡
