We are incredibly honored to share that Hampton Roads Veterinary Procedure Center has received the Dean Frank Award from Tidewater Community College’s Veterinary Technology Program. ❤️🐾

Teaching has always been something we genuinely love.

Veterinary medicine is a profession built on shared knowledge. Every one of us became the professionals we are today because someone took the time to teach us, answer our questions, let us observe, challenge us, and give us opportunities to grow. Being able to do the same for the next generation of veterinary professionals is something our team considers a privilege.

We love welcoming students and new graduates into our hospital, sharing the why behind what we do, teaching new skills and techniques, and watching confidence grow as knowledge turns into experience. And truthfully, teaching works both ways—our students continually bring curiosity, new ideas, and thoughtful questions that keep us learning, too.

Receiving an award recognizing our dedication to advancing the veterinary technology profession and supporting the education and success of graduates means more to us than we can adequately put into words.

To the faculty and students of Tidewater Community College’s Veterinary Technology Program, thank you for trusting us to be a small part of your education and professional journey.

And to our HRVPC team—thank you for never hesitating to stop, explain, demonstrate, encourage, and share what you know. Knowledge becomes so much more valuable when we’re willing to share it.

We are incredibly proud of this one. ❤️

Meet Zoey! Zoey is in her third year at Virginia Tech majoring in Animal and Poultry Science. She began a summer internship last summer with us to gain more surgical experience in the veterinary field. She is currently working on applying to veterinary school. Her passion, knowledge, and love of animals will surely help her go far in the field.

Zoey has become a familiar face amongst our patients and clients. We enjoy having her with us during her breaks from school, and have loved helping her grow in the field! If you are interested in shadowing opportunities please do not hesitate to reach out. At HRVPC, we love helping those in our field expand their knowledge in surgery, wound management, critical care, and anesthesia!

We’re excited to share that we are now offering Orthosta procedures to help improve joint stability following a cranial cruciate ligament (CCL) rupture!

CCL injuries are one of the most common causes of hind limb lameness in dogs, and restoring stability to the knee is essential for comfort, mobility, and long-term joint health. The Orthosta technique is designed to provide reliable support to the joint, helping patients return to a more active, pain-free lifestyle.

If your pet has been diagnosed with a CCL injury—or you’ve noticed signs like limping, difficulty rising, or decreased activity—our team is here to help guide you through the best treatment options.

Please feel free to reach out with any questions or to schedule a consultation. 🐾
