The day has come… after 6.5 years, I’m officially closing the chapter on my dog business, The Dogwood Pup LLC.
I started this journey with no roadmap—just a girl who had left college a month in, searching for purpose in 2019. What began as a little etsy shop turned into something so much more. I learned to sew in my grandparents’ home — my Gma by my side, and my Papa rooting for me every step of the way. Their support, along with my incredible family, gave me the push to go all in.
From pop-up markets and sending bandanas to celebrities, to becoming a vendor at The Lazy Daisy and shipping to pups across the world, I poured everything into this business. It was a challenging and so so rewarding journey.
But now, 6.5 years later, I’ve reached a bittersweet moment. I’ve known it was time to close this chapter, but I kept holding on … because part of me felt that keeping the business alive kept me connected to my sweet Papa, who passed away over a year ago. Letting go felt like letting go of him. However, I’ve realized that’s not true. He’s with me in everything I do .. still cheering me on, just like he always did.
This year, I stepped into a full-time role as a Marketing Coordinator and with it came structure, renewed energy, and a sense of purpose I didn’t even realize I was missing. The spark was back, just in a new way. And sometimes, things have to end to make space for even more growth.
And …. lastly, Rex is happily living that retired life at almost 15 years old 😉
I’m so grateful for everyone who supported this little dream of mine. Thank you to everyone who supported me along the way. YOU helped me build something I’ll always be proud of 🫶🏻🫶🏻🫶🏻🫶🏻🫶🏻
