Last month, a new client reached out to me regarding a problem she was having with her resident dog, Nayla and her new puppy addition Benson. Nayla was not adjusting well to Benson’s puppy energy and curiosity and it was getting dangerous. After a few sessions, we established a habituation protocol that allowed Nayla to slowly acclimate to the new household addition. With lots of time, effort and work, Kaitlyn has reported a phenomenal improvement in the overall relationship and an overall ease in household stress!

Beacon Dog is proud to announce that we will be supporting two local rescues this year. Koch's Corsos & Rescues and Genesis Pit Bull Rescue are phenominal and ethical rescues in York County. We will assist with anything they need in 2026. More to come!

Beacon Dog is proud to be sponsoring an adoption event on 10/19 at the York County SPCA. During this event, adoptions are half off to the adopter and Beacon Dog will pick up the other half. We will also have a table at the event to answer all your training and behavior questions. See ya there!

York County SPCA will have a series of events centered around pit bull-type dogs in October during Pit Bull Awareness Month.

10 years ago, I began my journey with the York County SPCA. At the time, I saw it as a way to spend more time with my dad. He and I started volunteering and had such good times walking dogs together.

This pic was taken in early December 2015 at my first event.

Little did I know then, I’d be more involved as a volunteer, and now as a dog trainer and canine behavior specialist. I’m proud to announce that my company, Beacon Dog, is a training resource for the York County SPCA.
