Memorial training weekend at Quill Feather Farm. Four of the Modelo x Bruno 2025 pups moving quickly from duck into to duck search. All four made recoveries of wounded ducks. These dogs are no joke, so much fun to watch!

Quill Feather Gun Dogs highlights from the Keystone Chapter of NAVHDA’s Spring NA Test held May 16-17, 2026.

What an incredible weekend for Quill Feather Gun Dogs! All eight pups from our Modelo x Bruno 2025 litter ran in the NAVHDA Natural Ability test. We are pleased to announce the following results:

Cody (yellow) 112 prize 1
Crush (orange) 112 prize 1
Haze (purple) 112 prize 1
Benny (aqua) 112 prize 1
Jett (blue) 108 prize 1
Crouton (red) 112 prize 1
Dock (green) 105 prize 2
Charlie May (pink) struggled in the field and while she did not prize, she did receive 4’s in Track and Water. Like the judges often say, this test can only score your dog based on what they observe over approximately 35 minutes on test day. She is a great dog that just needs more experience.

We are also pleased that six of the eight pups’ coats were judged Dense Medium Harsh.

Equally impressive, five handlers were first time handlers. Four of the pups were handled by female handlers, including Brandt’s daughter (ran Haze).

Congratulations to Quill Feather’s Cody for achieving a max score 112 prize 1 in his NAVHDA Natural Ability test. He’s a hell of a dog and we are all looking forward to seeing him flourish as a well-trained versatile hunting dog.
