When You Know, You Know… 🐾

Long before the veterinary hospital, or the years of caring for animals, there was a 6-year-old Dr. Greek with a box of crayons and a very clear idea of where he belonged.

Giraffes. Zebras. Lions, Elephants. A whole little zoo on a piece of paper. Maybe it wasn’t just a childhood drawing after all. Maybe it was the beginning of a dream.

Today, that original crayon drawing hangs just outside our surgery suite—a little reminder to all of us that dreams really can come true.

From a 6-year-old boy drawing animals with crayons to a veterinarian spending his life caring for them.

Turns out, Dr. Greek knew exactly what he wanted to be. ❤️🐾

Today, we’re adding FOUR more OGs to our celebration! 🎉 These longtime GAVH family members have continued to share their lives with us—and today we’re celebrating them alongside their current crew: four adorable dogs and one very special tortoise! 🐶🐶🐶🐶🐢

It truly means the world to us to have clients who have trusted us with their beloved pets through the years. Your loyalty, support, and friendship are a huge part of what makes GAVH so special. ❤️

Does this iconic Rat Pack photo at the legendary Sands Hotel look familiar?

Here’s a little piece of GAVH history: Our GAVH logo was inspired by this famous image!

Dr. Greek’s wife, Dez, designed our logo with a little inspiration from the Mid-Century Modern era—bold lettering, vintage Vegas, and a whole lot of Rat Pack cool.

So, when you see the GAVH logo, you’re seeing more than just a veterinary logo… you’re seeing a little Vegas history and Mid-Century flair!

Meet Anita, Client #323, and her sweet boy “Chestnut”! 🐾❤️

Anita has been part of the GAVH family for so many years, and her support has gone far beyond simply bringing her pets through our doors. She’s been a familiar face at our special events, often showing up with goodies, big smiles, and lots of love—and sometimes even stepping in as our official event photographer! 📸😄

Some of you have been with us for years, bringing us one beloved pet after another. Some have four legs, some have whiskers, and some prefer to be a little camera shy… we love them all! 😄

📚🐾 BACK-TO-SCHOOL PET SAFETY! 🐾📚

The backpacks are packed, the pencils are sharpened, and the crayons are ready to go… but is your pet ready for all those new school supplies?

Our curious four-legged friends don’t always know the difference between a #2 pencil and a chew toy! 🐶😼

✏️ Pencils & colored pencils
🖍️ Crayons
🖊️ Pens & markers
🧽 Erasers
📎 Glue & craft supplies
🎒 And especially those tempting backpacks!

While many common school supplies are considered low-toxicity, swallowing them can still cause stomach upset—or, in some cases, a dangerous intestinal blockage. Pen caps, erasers and other small objects can be particularly concerning. Our back-to-school rule: PACK IT. ZIP IT. PUT IT UP.
Keep school supplies, backpacks and craft projects safely out of paws’ (and curious beaks!) reach.

And remember: if your pet gets into something they shouldn’t, don’t wait to see what happens. Give your veterinarian a call for guidance.

Because around here, we love seeing your pets… but preferably not because they ate the school supplies! 😜
