🐶✨ Benny is proof that bravery comes in a Frenchie-sized package.

After developing seizures, Benny was diagnosed with a glioma this past June. He underwent stereotactic radiation therapy with our Radiation Oncology team, completing five treatments like an absolute champion.

Since finishing therapy, Benny has been doing great, and his mom is thrilled with how well he's feeling. With a house full of fellow Frenchies cheering him on, we know he's surrounded by plenty of love!

We're honored to be part of Benny's journey and grateful for the dedicated family who entrusted us with his care. ❤️

Employee Spotlight? Not today.

Today we're recognizing our four-legged team members. 🐾

One of the best perks of working at Animal Specialty Center is being able to bring our pets to work. After spending time with them each day, we've come to one conclusion:

They all seem to think they're employed here.

Some are dedicated greeters. Some specialize in quality-control naps. And a few have clearly promoted themselves to management.

Zion is getting to the bottom of the itch! 🐾🌿🔍

Zion visited ASC for an Intradermal Allergy Test, which checks for 50+ common environmental allergens in our area. Knowing what your pet is allergic to can help us create a plan to keep them more comfortable and hopefully a whole lot less itchy! 💙

If your pet seems to spend more time scratching than relaxing, it might be time to see our Dermatology team.

A very special first day at ASC! 🎉🩺

Our new Medical Oncologist officially kicked off her first day at Animal Specialty Center surrounded by her team and, of course, an adorable patient! 🐾

Meet Chase, who was a VERY good boy for his treatments today and clearly understood the assignment when it was time for the team photo. 📸🐶💙

We couldn’t be happier to have our newest doctor on board. Here’s to an amazing first day and many more to come!

Please join us in welcoming Dr. Maria Dolores Porcel Sanchez to the Animal Specialty Center team! 🐾🦷

Dr. Porcel Sanchez will be joining us this October as a specialist in Dentistry and Oral Surgery, bringing extensive international training and a passion for helping pets achieve better oral health and comfort.

A graduate of CEU Cardenal Herrera University in Spain, Dr. Porcel Sanchez has trained and practiced across Europe, Canada, and the United States. Most recently, she completed her residency training in Dentistry and Oral Surgery at North Carolina State University College of Veterinary Medicine.

Her clinical interests include comprehensive dentistry and oral surgery, traumatic oral surgery, endodontics, periodontology, case management, and CBCT-based diagnostics.

Outside of the hospital, Dr. Porcel Sanchez enjoys hiking, running, traveling, singing, and scuba diving! 🌎🥾🤿

We are thrilled to have her joining the ASC family and look forward to expanding the specialized dental and oral surgery services available to our patients and referring veterinary community. 💙

New Specialist Alert !! ⚠️ 🚨 Dr. Audrey Ghanian will join our staff on September 22. She grew up in both New York and New Jersey and earned her bachelor’s degree in Animal Science from Rutgers University in 2017. She went on to graduate from the University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine in 2021 and completed a rotating internship at Wheat Ridge Animal Hospital in Denver, Colorado, the following year. Dr. Ghanian then returned to the University of Pennsylvania to pursue a clinical trials specialty internship followed by a Medical Oncology residency, which she finished in 2026 shortly before becoming board-certified. Dr. Ghanian is dedicated to providing compassionate, individualized care to pets and their families throughout every stage of the cancer journey. Outside of work, Dr. Ghanian enjoys yoga, traveling, reading, and trying new restaurants and recipes with her partner. They share two cats, Pippa (spicy) and Elphie (sweet).

We had a fantastic lunch-and-learn with our dermatologist, Dr. Dayle McClintock, at Bayside Animal Hospital!

From allergy testing to Zenrelia, many topics in dermatology were discussed — including medication protocols, food recommendations, and treatment approaches.

It was an engaging session filled with thoughtful questions, shared expertise, and continued learning. Educational opportunities like these help us provide the most current information and specialty support to our valued referring veterinary community.🐾
