⭐️Another JM Graduate update!⭐️

“Hi Mallory!

I wanted to give you a little update on Chunk Norris and I! We started to dip our toes into Eventing back in 2024 when we discovered Chunk’s love for jumping. After a few very successful schooling events, we started training with four star event rider Chloe Smyth and the exceptional dressage trainer Donna Weinberg. Under their guidance we made our recognized event debut and have had an amazing show season at the Starter level.

Some of our accomplishments for the 2025 season include:
- Winning 2 events
- Being a member of the Reserve Champion Adult Rider Team at the USEA (United States Eventing Association) American Eventing Championships
- Reserve Senior Starter Rider Champion at Galway Downs Eventing Championships
- 3rd on the Adult Amateur Rider Starter USEA National Leaderboard
- 4th on the Adult Rider Starter USEA National Leaderboard
- 10th on the Starter Horse USEA National Leaderboard
- 8th on the USEA Pony of the Year National Leaderboard
- Champion Area VI (CA, HI) Adult Amateur Starter Rider
- Reserve Champion Area VI Adult Starter Rider
- Reserve Champion Area VI Starter Horse

So far in the 2026 show season we have had an additional win at the Starter level, had a successful move up to the Beginner Novice level and dabbled in dressage a bit, winning all four of our classes at Training Level at our first recognized Dressage show.

Chunk has proved to be a little superstar who tackles everything we ask him to do with ease and confidence. He has a reputation for being a little professional and is often looked to when another horse on the team needs a confident buddy to es**rt them around a busy show ground or packed warm up arena. Chunk has continued to build quite the fan club and has admirers every where we go. And with good reason for he really has proved that he is a spotty unicorn worth his weight in gold.

When he’s not strutting his stuff in the show arena, he spends his time at home going on trail rides with friends, giving pony rides, doing the occasional fox hunt and mostly just being my best friend. I couldn’t ask for a better partner to have and truly treasure him. Thank you for finding such an amazing pony!”

Congratulations to Sarah Wood on her purchase of Otis!
We are so excited to follow their journey here in WY! He’ll only be about 6 hours from us, in the mountains outside of Cody.
We will really miss this guy, but we are so thankful for an outstanding person that has come his/our way!
Jesse roped on him for the last time, last weekend at the branding, and it was very bittersweet❤️

I have gotten to know Mallory Cecil, of JM Horses, over the last several years as I've watched her bring along several horses from afar. As I had interests, she always took an immense amount of time to talk to me when I inquired about them. She wanted to also get to know me because she wants to make sure her horses and her clients are a great fit for each other. She is very transparent, trustworthy and extremely knowledgeable.

As I watched her bring a long Murphy I realized he really would be the horse I've been waiting for to trust completely. He demonstrated the confidence and capabilities that could also give me the confidence to re-explore field hunter activities, like fox hunting, trail riding and hunter paces. He is super smart, learns easily, is so willing, can do many different things, including adapting to the English discipline and has a personality that is hilarious and melts my heart.

When he arrived, he handled the new surroundings like he'd been here for years. After a few days of rest from the long trip, I got on him and he marched forward curious, happy and confident!

I trust Mallory so much that I bought him without trying him and he has turned out to be exactly what she represented.

She also followed up with me after he arrived in Virginia to make sure to answer questions and give me advice as Murphy and I got to know each other.

Jesse, Mallory and JM Horses, LLC, are genuine, skilled and simply amazing. I consider Mallory a friend for life and have willed Murphy to her, so I know he goes back to the best of homes some day.

Murphy will be one of my greatest partners for this next phase of my riding discipline that can carry me safely and enjoyably.
