Some of you might remember Biggie, one of our long-term dogs... Here he is today!

I wanted to share a slightly overdue one-year update on Biggie. I am still so incredibly happy that I adopted him. He is truly the best buddy and such a loving dog. Everyone who meets him falls in love with him. He absolutely loves playing ball and doing zoomies both inside the house and outdoors.

We are still working on his socialization with other dogs. He recently had an opportunity to meet another dog and did a really good job, though he still needs a lot of work in this area.

He is so incredibly loved every single day.

Meet Molly, a 1-year-old Shepherd/Husky mix weighing 50 pounds. ❤️

When Molly first arrived, she was a very shy girl, but with patience and love, she has really come out of her shell! She’s become a favorite with our dog walkers and loves going for walks, exploring, and spending time with her people. 🥰

Molly walks beautifully on leash and is always happy to follow up an adventure with some serious snuggle time! She can still be unsure in new situations, so she’ll need a patient family to help her continue building confidence.

She crates well and enjoys playing with other dogs. 🐶

Molly is simply a good girl looking for her person. Could you be the one she’s been waiting for? ❤️🏡🐾

Meet Joker, a 3-year-old Belgian Malinois/German Shepherd mix weighing 60 pounds! 💪🐕

Joker is smart, energetic, toy- and treat-motivated, and ready for a person who loves to train and keep their dog busy! He needs a job, plenty of exercise, mental enrichment, and a secure, supervised environment—this boy is definitely not looking for a couch-potato lifestyle! 😂

He can get mouthy when excited, so we’re recommending a home without young children. Joker has done well with some dogs and cats but can be selective, so resident pets will need to meet him before adoption.

If you’re an experienced dog person looking for an intelligent, athletic companion with tons of potential, Joker might be your guy! ❤️🐾

Guess that breed mix with hints provided below! Can you guess Millie's breed mix (formerly known as Macy)? In the second photo she is the dog in the middle.

Millie was adopted into a loving home and her family just HAD to know what breeds made up her beautiful mix. She has five confirmed breeds in her with some supermutt! It can be pretty hard to guess all 5, but can you guess the top breed or two? Here's a hint, her top most breed starts with a "S" and her second breed starts with and "C". Comment your guesses below. 🐾 LAST WEEK AT THE YAKIMA HUMANE SOCIETY 🐾

Last week, we welcomed 46 animals into our care and celebrated 35 success stories! 🎉❤️ We are incredibly grateful to everyone who adopted and gave a shelter pet the loving home they deserve.

This week, we’re hoping to help even more animals while shining a little extra spotlight on some of our longer-term residents who are still waiting for their forever families.

One of those dogs is Courage. 💙 He has been with us for a while and continues to get overlooked because he can be nervous. But behind that nervous exterior is an amazing dog just waiting for someone to see his potential.

We’re hoping this is the week someone looks past his shyness, gives him a chance, and discovers what a wonderful companion Courage can be. 🐶❤️

46 came in. 35 found their happy endings. Let’s make this week even better!
