🚨 URGENT CARE APPOINTMENTS AVAILABLE — PLEASE READ! 🚨

We know how stressful and scary it can be when your pet suddenly becomes sick or injured, especially with the limited emergency veterinary care available in our area. ❤️ At Companion Animal Clinic, we are doing what we can to help by offering a limited number of same-day urgent care appointments, Monday–Thursday.

🐾 WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN URGENT CARE & EMERGENCY CARE?

🩺 URGENT CARE is for pets who need prompt veterinary attention but are stable and not experiencing a life-threatening crisis. Examples may include:
• Vomiting or diarrhea without severe symptoms
• Minor wounds or limping
• Ear infections or skin issues causing discomfort
• Sudden changes in appetite or energy
• Other concerns that shouldn't wait for a routine appointment

🚨 EMERGENCY CARE is for life-threatening or rapidly worsening conditions that require immediate attention. Examples include:
• Difficulty breathing
• Collapse or loss of consciousness
• Severe bleeding or major trauma
• Seizures that are prolonged or repeated
• Suspected poisoning
• A swollen abdomen with repeated unsuccessful attempts to vomit
• Straining to urinate with little or no urine, especially in male cats

If your pet is experiencing a life-threatening emergency, please seek emergency veterinary care immediately. Do not wait for an urgent care appointment.

🏥 HOW OUR URGENT CARE WORKS:

📞 CALL EARLY! Urgent care appointments are limited and accepted on a case-by-case basis. We accept urgent care cases until 11:00 AM, Monday–Thursday, depending on availability and your pet's needs.

🚫 NO WALK-INS. Please call us first. Arriving at the clinic without an appointment does not guarantee your pet can be seen.

💲 Urgent care appointments start at $104. This is the starting appointment fee; additional diagnostics, treatments, medications, and services may incur additional charges.

In Honor of Veterinary Technician week, we would like to honor and thank our techs that work so hard to help keep our clinic running.
Diana – A licensed tech since 2001 Diana brings a wealth of knowledge to our clinic. She has been in the field longer than anyone else on our team and we are thankful for her attention to detail, keeping our inventory squared away and how she is always a quiet helpful voice for pets in our care. Diana does a great job of using her infinite wisdom to keep fellow employees(Holly) in check with new ideas.

Micaela – With just 2 years under her belt, Micaela is a force to be reckoned with when it comes to client education. She has stepped up to the plate, learning more about safe anesthesia and uses this knowledge daily with our surgery patients. No task is too much for her from scrubbing floors, and learning how to schedule appointments to triaging emergent patients Micaela is willing to do what it takes to keep her hands busy and the clinic running smoothly.
Caitlin – Ever seen the eye of a storm? Welcome to how Caitlin handles the chaos that can be the clinic on any given day, calm, collected and ready to kick some butt. Starting her final year of tech school gives her insight into new ways to practice medicine and a fresh outlook on difficult cases. Caitlin is our go to for the special cases, from hard blood draws to patients who want to eat us, she never backs down.

🐾💙 BAILEY’S BLADDER STONE ADVENTURE! 💙🐾

Meet Bailey! 🐶✨ This handsome guy recently came in to Companion Animal Clinic for his annual wellness exam—and little did he know, that routine visit was about to make a BIG difference!

During his appointment, Bailey’s owners mentioned something important: every now and then, they had noticed blood in his urine and that he seemed to struggle when trying to p*e. 🚨

Dr. Knerr knew those little details were worth investigating. She recommended some diagnostics, including X-rays and an ultrasound, and sure enough… we found the culprit! 🕵️‍♀️🔎

💥 BLADDER STONES! 💥

Bailey’s stones were preventing him from being his usual happy, comfortable self, so we scheduled surgery to remove them. Thankfully, the surgery was successful, Bailey recovered beautifully, and now…

🎉 HE’S BACK TO HIS HAPPY, HEALTHY SELF! 🎉

And honestly, stories like Bailey’s are exactly why we talk so much about annual wellness exams AND knowing what is normal for your pet. ❤️

You know your pet better than anyone. When you notice changes like:
🐾 Difficulty urinating
🐾 Blood in the urine
🐾 Changes in appetite or thirst
🐾 Changes in energy
🐾 Vomiting or diarrhea
🐾 Changes in behavior
🐾 Or simply that little feeling that “something just isn't right”

—those details matter!

🔬 Diagnostics are an incredibly important part of veterinary medicine. We know that hearing that your pet needs X-rays, an ultrasound, bloodwork, or other testing can sometimes come with a little bit of sticker shock. 💸 We completely understand!

But the truth is, our veterinarians don't have a crystal ball. 🔮

We really wish Dr. Knerr’s crystal ball was working… but sadly, it has been out of commission for quite some time. 😂

So instead, we rely on science, diagnostics, and good old-fashioned detective work to figure out what is actually happening inside your pet.

In Bailey’s case, those tools helped us find the problem and get him the treatment he needed sooner rather than later. 🩵

Today, Bailey is back to doing what Bailey does best—being a happy pup! 🐶🥰

Annual exams + knowing your pet’s normal + paying attention to changes = a powerful team. 💙

We know your cat has very strong feelings about coming to the vet. They may tell you:

❌ “I can ride on Mom's lap.”
❌ “I promise I won't jump out of the car.”
❌ “I would NEVER hide under the brake pedal.”
❌ “I definitely won't turn into a flying ball of claws in the parking lot.”

THEY ARE LYING.

For everyone's safety, including your cat, you, other pets, and our staff, please bring your feline friend in a secure carrier.

A carrier helps prevent unexpected escape attempts, parking lot adventures, and the dreaded game of “Catch Me If You Can” around the clinic. 🏃‍♀️🐈💨

Don't have a carrier? No problem! We offer cardboard cat carriers for a small price.

🚨 Important: Any cat arriving at the clinic without a secure carrier will be assigned a brand-new cardboard carrier to take home. This helps us keep your kitty safely contained from check-in to checkout, and prevents an unexpected episode of America's Next Top Escape Artist.

Remember: If your cat can escape it, it is not a secure carrier.
